I’ve just caught up as well. Good news on the G niece. We have three of those and don’t live far away which is lovely. Thanks for the log info. Going to have a look at that.I often think I need to look at posture - so going to see how I can follow that up. I am tall and (thankfully) have a good back generally but as I get older, probably need to do a bit more.L x6

Thanks for the tip about a free drink from the Octopods- will definitely take advantage of that occasionally.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Morning all - yes, the free hot drink via the Octoplus scheme really is a bit of a win! (All the more so as I am the only one of the two of us who uses the app, so I am the only one who will be in a position to claim it!)
The only bit on my plan for Saturday afternoon that I didn't achieve was the bath & hairwash and that was just a choice that I couldn't be bothered right then. I did get a fair bit done in the garden and some more rearranging of the shed though, plus both bags of logs emptied and stacked.
We had a really lovely day out in London yesterday! Parked near the end of the Victoria Line and travelled in that way opting for the quick change onto the Bakerloo line at Oxford Circus along to Piccadilly Circus to change back to the northbound platforms and look at the interesting platform arrangement there - essentially from the far end of the Northbound you can see into the start of the platform on the southbound, as well, which is quite unusual. then on to Marylebone - a bit of time admiring what I personally think may be London's prettiest mainline station, a walk towards Baker Street where we needed to be for the booked Hidden London tour and as we had time a quick stop for a hot drink (and a pastry shared between us!) at a cafe recommended by a friend who uses Marylebone regularly and so knows the area.
Then the Baker Street tour - and it was unquestionably one of the most interesting ones we've done. SO much to see, and it felt like we explored a huge amount of the history of the station too. Some glorious tiling, a fascinating area with more cabling than we had ever seen in one place before, and lots more besides!
That second photo is standing directly under one of the platforms which was quite an odd feeling!
From there we nipped into the pub next door to the station which used to be a rather posh restaurant - in fact there is still a preserved poster advertising it on one of the public platforms - for a pint before heading off to Spitalfields where we intended to get lunch. I'm not one for going for "viral" stuff off the internet as a rule but having seen a lot of stuff about Sud Italia and their epic folded "wallet style" pizzas I reckoned it was well worth a try - and we weren't disappointed! SO tasty! Then on down to Battersea - via a change at Bank and a look at the new (very impressive) Northern Line platform there, and then the new bit of Northern line which we'd not travelled on before. Battersea Power Station is incredible - all very high end shops inside, plus lots of (expensive looking!) places to eat, but the way they have preserved the iconic building is just superb, we were so impressed! There is a light installation going on there at the moment as well which we had a wander around - I suspect there was more of it than we found but it was pretty good anyway.
The tickets for the tour were already paid for of course as I bought it for MrEH for part of his christmas present. He paid for the cafe stop before we did the tour from his personal spends, and the beers, and I paid for the pizzas at lunchtime (just £5 each which was a total bargain!) again from personal spends. The travel was all on Oyster - I had to feed mine before we started and that will be from joint funds as a £10 top up on mine is budgeted each month and doesn't always get used.
And now here we are at the start of another week! My main aims will be to keep up with doing my yoga regularly, and get a fair bit of walking in too. Currently my plan is to drive up to Lincoln on Thursday after work and stay at C's overnight, then weather permitting get some time photographing the Reds practising on Friday - the forecast isn't looking great so far though so I could do with lots of good weather vibes being sent that way!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thanks Beanie!
In other MSE news, I have just managed to secure the travel back from the trip we have planned in April on the train for £64.49 for us both. Allowing that the way up was only £73.39, I'm rather pleased with that - we had budgeted up to £200 for the travel on this if needed, so getting the lot for under £140 is quite the result. There will be a small amount of cashback to come as well - It has already tracked but the amount needs to finalise yet. We've got exactly the train I wanted too for the way back - a straight through which gets us back to London just before 9pm.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

We have often thought about the tours of the underground stations. We love watching the program on Yesterday Channel with Siddy Holloway. Although sometimes I watch it and say..."ooh I wouldn't like to be down there". I sometimes can feel a bit claustrophobic on the tube. Not my favourite means of transport, but do find all the history and architecture interesting. Might think about booking one as a surprise for DH this year, I know he would like it.Making the debt go down and savings go up
