You know it L! Nothing to what you get up there mind!Well I seem to have had a reasonably productive day. We got out for a walk first thing - got fairly damp half way through but had dried out again by the time we got back thanks to the fairly strong breeze. Sorted out the cover on my bike when I got back - it had tried to blow itself free again- but by the time I went out again a few hours later the bike and recycling bin had blown over so I’ve given up for now and left it where it is!MSE Stuff:
- nipped into C00p while we were out - they had MrEH’s paper, and one of the coupons was money off that, I also had a 20p off milk one too, plus the remaining pennies on the card, and MrEH has a subscription voucher for his paper, so ended up paying 59p in cash for 4 pints of milk. Bargain!
- porridge for breakfast - using a pint of milk which was going begging at MrEH’s workplace
- meal plan and shopping list written factoring in things that also need using up.- shopping done at Lil’s - claimed the free apple turnover I got fro:the spin to win last week too!- browsed Lil’s bird feeding stuff and decided that the £4.99 squirrel-proof fat ball feeder was a decent deal, and also a rather cute seed feeder with a ceramic top and bottom at the same price. Should be easy to clean which is the main thing we look for, and hopefully the shiny ceramic might prove tougher for the squirrels to cling to. £29.15 spent all told, but £10 of that comes from the household, not grocery, budget.- wandered along to BeeandEmm to make sure the logs haven’t dropped any further in price as we’ve agreed we’ll find space for more if they do. No luck yet, but they do still have a good few bags so we’ll keep our eyes open.- back into Lil’s as the earlier shopping had sent me over the £50 spend threshold - free bread! 😁
- banks checked and all good. MrEH fed his oyster yesterday and that’s now gone through OK. CC shuffle done for this morning’s spending.Other stuff:
- whizzed round the living room with a duster this morning
- my Cl1n1que order arrived so that will be stashed away ready for use when needed.- steam mop put round all the hard floors, and Jaws over the living room carpet too.
- DW is running through currently so I’ll get that emptied a bit later.
- logs brought in to fill the basket, and coal scuttle filled. I’ll see what MrEH reckons but I think we can get away without buying more coal this week as I reckon there is still enough in the sack to fill it once more too.
- my car will have its service and MoT next week - fingers crossed all will be good!- yoga done - Day 17 of the current challenge, and an additional short hip & back session too.
- decision taken that we’ll stick with the planned takeaway this evening - MrEH is favouring Chinese at the moment.
- dry washing sorted and away
- a bit of tidying done in the spare room - mainly things that got popped onto shelves when we moved in and we’d not given any more thought too since. A good number of bits found proper homes and a basket for stuff ready to come down and go into either the bureau in the front room or the office.
Once MrEH finishes work I’ll get the house sorted for the night, curtains and blinds etc.
Now my only plan is to get the fire lit and enjoy the rest of my evening - happy weekend all!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

That sounds like a nicely productive day and that you have a restful evening planned 😊 How lovely 😊6

I'm just trying to figure out why what you wrote reminded me that Ts didn't have any light bulbs that suited what I need. Then they wonder why that African river does so well. Botheration. My own fault really as last time I bought replacements I wasn't paying proper attention & bought the screw fittings by mistake. Those bruises on my legs are from me kicking myself. I realised I had messed up when I got home (I remember that) but I didn't put them back on the list. And to quote me 60 years ago - if it isn't on the list is doesn't get done.

What a fabulously productive day, enjoy your take-away. Shame your weekend away plans had to be postponed, but at least now you'll be home to take photos of disgruntled squirrels6

Sorry the weather changed your plans.
Yes - I love that moisturiser too - it's pretty much the only one that works for me - and like you I'm prone to eczema otherwise.

Morning (ish) all - a soggy, grey one it is here too, which is really handy allowing that we made the discovery on Sunday that the mysterious occasionally wet patch under the bath is going to be related to the fact that there is a gap around the soil stack in the roof and when it rains, water runs down the stack... sigh. MrEH is hopefully contacting the roofing chap that Mum uses today, but I suspect it will be next week before he'll be able to come round now. Oh well - at least we know, and a further week isn't likely to make a massive amount of difference now is it.
The mid month lull continues - small DD to the RSPB has departed the joint account, the Council tax will depart in a couple of days. The CC is nearly up to date - I need MrEH to transfer some money to me, and I must work out where the bird food and nest box we bought on Sunday is coming from. It could have been worse - as there were nearly several plants as well, we've held off currently on the basis that it makes sense to wait until we've actually sorted what we want to do with the front garden before we go ahead and buy plants for it. On the subject of gardens, the chap who was coming round to look at the work we want done to create the new bed at the back didn't make it on Sunday....I'm not hugely surprised by this as combining MrEH's main rugby team willing their league, along with the England win against the Welsh foe as well was never going to leave people's heads feeling entirely normal on Sunday - even MrEH declined to drive ALL DAY "just in case"!
There was an amount more grocery spending at the weekend, and that included the Seville oranges, lemons and the sugar to make the 2024 batch of marmalade. Batch 1 is made, batch 2 will be completed tomorrow/Thursday evenings I think. At least we now know that our maslin pan works perfectly well on the induction hob - I thought it would, MrEH was most sceptical though so it was nice to prove him wrong! (And blast - I've just realised we will need more jar labels before I can do the labelling up as well...)
Due to the aformentioned rugby league win I need a change of plan on the meal plan this evening as the team are electing to do the quiz at the club and order in pizza rather than their usual Tuesday night training. This means I just need a meal for myself - and current favourite is some sort of cauliflower/chorizo/pasta bake - as I finally found a decent sized cauli at the farm shop. I might even batch cok the whole thing and make a dish of it for tomorrow as well....and in fact, having thought about the farm shop visit, I might ALSO roast some chunks of the half Crown Prince Squash I also bought while we were there to pop in to the bake as well....yum!
That's about it to be honest - nothing much occurring from an MSE perspective at the moment - good in some ways of course, but let's be honest, a bit dull from a diary point of view!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
