merry XmasDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

It's always nice having one's first Christmas in a new house. It's one of those celebrations with lots of ritual which helps imprint 'us' on a new home, I think.
Glad to have been of service on the bread sauce reminder! I've only made a half quantity as there will just be us two for Christmas lunch this year, but we do always go to town on making a proper roast turkey dinner, & I too, would be gutted to find that bread sauce had been forgotten! Had to smile at Mr F - he is already planning to put a bit of each Christmas dinner component into a freezer container to provide a meal on his first extra-late work shift of 2024! Can't fault him!

Am I the only one to think it is the most pointless of sauces! Definitely nothing I've ever bothered with since leaving home over 50 years ago!7

I confess I have never knowingly eaten bread sauce 🙈😂😂5

I had to ask my English-to-English translator (the OH) what bread sauce was!
The disdain from him was unrivalled! It seems I wasn't paying proper attention to the TV the other night when the doyen of the kitchen, Dame Mary was showing 'us' how to prepare it! I have a feeling our 'tween roast dinner will now feature this sauce!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! I hate bread sauce. DH like it, but isn't that bothered, so I just don't make it. He is happy with cranberry and I am happy with just gravy. Sauces have never been my "thing", apart from a nice sweet & sour or tomato ketchup...LOLMaking the debt go down and savings go up
