The framed photos look stunning and I love the wreath! Sorry about the boss being as she is; some people are very strange and unpleasant unfortunately. I hope you can find a better option next year 🤞4

I saw you'd been to a Turkish supermarket SA - you found the big bags of smoked paprika too if I remember rightly?! I've been halfheartedly looking around for a while to see what else might be a possibility Moorviews, and will continue to do so, although of course the issue with being in this sort of environment is that you find yourself wondering if anywhere else would even be any better!
Madam is what she is, and has always been the same. Part of the problem is that she went straight from uni to the firm a family member was a partner at - that is why she went there. She's never done anything more junior, and so treats those who are in support rolls with contempt. Goodness knows where she got it from as her family member is lovely - and wouldn't dream of speaking to people as she does! When Lovely Mr Boss was here he was extremely open about the fact that when they took the step to employ me (long termers might recall that I was here on a self employed basis before that) he was clear with her from the outset that he would manage the employment stuff - and that was of course the reason why. She got a bit lippy again this morning, and having resoundingly had enough, I politely and coolly called her out on it - unsurprisingly, and as is the way with bullies, the atmosphere has been much improved since. That's probably part of the battle to be honest - I need to be braver about just speaking up and saying "enough".🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Well done for pulling her up on her unnecessary meanness. There really is no excuse for that type of nonsense 😠 i hope you can find something else sharpish if you decide to look, she clearly doesn't deserve you!5

Thanks lovelies - it definitely helps knowing there's a cheer squad standing behind me!
We ate some of the soup I made from the ham stock that I was concerned would be too salty last night - and brilliantly, once it had a splash more water, some shredded chicken thighs and some frozen sweetcorn added, it was absolutely fine! I love a good food save - and it's ace to finally have that stock out of the freezer! (Even if some of the soup is going back in there!)
MSE Stuff:
- the soup, not last as it will feed one or both of us for more meals yet
- remembering to open the Lil's app this morning and finding another £5 off £45 spend in there - it will mean some stocking up, but we've agreed to make use of it as it seems daft to let it go.
- While in the app also spotting that the cheeky blighters are expiring my free veg coupon today rather than tomorrow - as a result we have agreed to swing round there this evening to use that AND do the other shopping.
- The FD reg saver money came through and has now been split between a cash ISA (flexible one, so we'll be able to get at it for house related works next year), the S&S ISA and the mortgage - which means a round of applause for getting into the £91k's!
- I have made a reminder for myself to check for a free coffee code from the Octopods first thing tomorrow
- a slightly reluctant addition in the shape of a free lunch as it's our work christmas lunch today. Not convinced colleague or I are really looking forward to it that much, and in spite of the notice on the door saying the office is closed from 1pm, no doubt as usual Madam will be gagging for us to return to work! Oh well - it's a decent pub, I don't have to drive later, and their food is always excellent!
- I have started a list of what I intend to prep for Christmas tea - so will be referring to that regularly over the next week, and that will stop me overbuying as well.
Tea tonight will be the second half of the veg & potato bake I batch cooked - and we both really enjoyed the first of those so that's one to look forward to!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

In the spirit of having things to look forward to in the gloomy month that is January, I've just acted on the N3ct@r email sent this morning with discounted theatre tickets to secure two seats for Just for One Day for £20 each. Yes they are up in the gods, and will no doubt require binoculars to pick out the stage but I really don't care! Not been to the theatre in SO long!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
