I could say she’s being a cow, but instead I’ll go for the more diplomaticSun_Addict said:How very bah humbug of madam 😞 What's her reasoning behind it?
😂😂 I know exactly why it is though, it’s that I referred a few weeks ago to “what we usually do” which is finishing at midday on 23rd - so she’s flexing her muscles to prove that she’s in charge and makes the decisions. It’s tedious, but for some reason she feels the need to do this. 🤷🏻♀️ I remind myself it says more about her than it does about me!Makingabobor2 said:She is being a bit of a Scrooge. Can you not negotiate?I really don’t want to rob time off from next year’s allowance, and my job can’t be done from home, so I think I’ll ask to do the half day next Friday instead. I’ll choose my moment, and ensure that my colleague is in earshot at the time as there is less chance she will refuse just because she can then. At least that way I get a decent run through still. I will also be ensuring a mention that if she changes her mind ant the last minute about the close time I will expect to be credited for that additional time worked, too!Anyway, lovely to see so many visitors and thank you for raging alongside me over it! 😆
Aunt’s funeral yesterday was beautiful, glorious setting, fabulous weather, my Uncle did the most marvellous tribute to her in the shape of essentially recounting her life story, mentioning all sorts of people and I suspect everyone in the room felt included in one way or another. My cousins both spoke too - I was so proud of them as there was no way I could have stood up and spoken at my Dad’s service, I’m in awe of P & M for doing it.Today’s been an odd one as MrEH is working in London not at home, so I dropped him at the tube at Epping this morning and came back via T’s for the first of the Christmas food shopping. Two hams, sausage meat balls (I’m rebelling against messing with a slap of sausage meat!) the chipolatas for pigs in blankets, and the bacon for those and the turkey, sausages for sausage rolls (will need another pack) also got the stuffing (a posh F1nest pack with apple and stuff in it), the first picky bits for Christmas day tea/Boxing Day, smoked salmon and a pack of ready rolled puff pastry as I’m going to try out a pesto and Parmesan pastry tree I think - it will either work or it won’t! Not a cheap shop and I nearly had a heart attack when I saw the figure before the CC was scanned! 😂 Handily they have reduced their Christmas lights so I got a set which a I figured would work on the bay window outside - £6.50, get in!Been to the chemist and collected my prescriptions having remembered to buy the PP certificate last night.Lights now up round the bay and the little tree next to the front door is decorated too - I just need to press the button to turn those lights on later, the others are on a smart plug so will come on and go off automatically.I should hear from MrEH in a while about what time he anticipates getting away from the office - I’m walking to the station to meet him and we’re hopping on the train to a Cambridge to go to the beer festival there this evening. I’m looking forward to seeing the Christmas lights in Cambridge - they’re always pretty and the festival is right in the centre so we should see lots!Evri are messing about with the delivery of the canvas I ordered - they have had it since Tuesday and I’ve had no delivery notification, and now the tracking number is showing as not recognised - earlier it said the parcel was out for delivery yesterday so goodness knows what they’ve done. Photobox are being unusually unhelpful too - I’m not sure whether the lady in the live chat earlier genuinely didn’t understand what I was asking or was choosing not to. The other prints have arrived and look good though - those are all framed up ready to hang. Sneaky peek of one set…
Forgot to say, in MSE style I decided to make use of the free three month 🍎 TV trial that came with the new iPad, and we started watching “Hijack” last. Ight. Three episodes later, and having got NONE of the stuff we’d intended to done, we agreed that it’s rather gripping! A recommended watch, for those who can access it.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Those photos look brilliant in the frame.Glad your aunt’s funeral went well. Sounds like it was a lovely tribute to her.I’m always amazed by the cc discounts after they’re taken off and often wonder if anyone pays the full price.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

That sounds like an amazing tribute - takes real thought and care to produce something like that ❤️
Glad you’ve come up with a potential solution to the working an extra half day … 🙄 And yes, ill guarantee micro controlling boss will have had enough by lunchtime on the 23rd and will want to slope off …! My quality engineer asked me today if he could duck working the 2nd January (I’d already booked it off, as we always work a half day on a Friday and I couldn’t see the point of going back into work for those few hours followed by a weekend again - my boss said yes to both of us being off at the same time so QE is beaming from ear to ear - s’only fair 🤷♀️😊
That photos frame is stunning - love how you’ve done arches and perspective images together - well done 👏 🤩
Enjoy your evening 😊
