Awww EH. Hope you’ve got over the worse before you get better. I’d be annoyed about the glasses but as others have said it could’ve been worse. Gentle hugs.LTotal Debt Dec 07 £59875.83 Overdrafts £2900,New Debt Figure ZERO !!!!!!:j 08/06/2013

Oh good grief EH 🙁 I’m glad you’re relatively ok apart from the glasses.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Hope you have a speedy recovery EH, sounds nasty but could have been far worse.3

Thanks lovelies, it really could have been SO much worse, and once I’d ascertained that neither teeth nor nose were broken (for that was my second - vanity - concern!) I did feel mightily relieved to have avoided breaking anything other than the glasses! Fair to say that I am very sore - trying to avoid sitting for too long so I don’t stiffen up too much!Decided on Lil’s for the shopping earlier, but also popped to T’s as I wanted to get a potted plant of some sort for Mum and I had a feeling they might have something suitable. They did - a pretty little patio rose in a ceramic pot for £5 so that was a win. I also grabbed the £10 Baileys (of course!) and a massive bag of parsnips for £1.69!The Agile prices are decent enough overnight that the slow cooker is going on with soup - unsurprisingly that is curried parsnip which is a good old favourite. That’s set to come on using a smart plug. The WM is also going to be running for a wash and dry to freshen up the spare bed bedding, and the DW will run as well - ideally we’d have run that the following night as that is looking like even better pricing but it couldn’t really wait.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Started writing that post last night then realised I was really very tired and decided that bed was where I needed to be, hence the quite abrupt finish!
I’ve got more bruising today, and a bit more swelling round my right eye too. Also sporting the first black eyes of my life - I can’t decide whether to be horrified or quietly fascinated at the process of how the bruising spreads out! 😆 Both knees are very sore too - and I have discovered that kneeling down on anything other than the softest surface is a no-go - ouch!
so - how are things in MSE land then:
- banks are as expected at this stage in the month, there will be an end of month surplus of around £500 which will be split between mortgage, PBs and long term savings pot. That will wait for next week though just in case of an extra London day for MrEH meaning an additional Oyster feed.- Food account is really very squeaky - Lil’s yesterday was £38 although £6 of that will come back from MrEH. Then there was an extra £4.50 in T’s for reduced parsnips and cheese. There are still some bits I’ve not got yet too - my citrus fruit for the week, MrEH’s bananas…having said that I have just realised that the free fruit item from Lil’s just might include the grocer’s case of citrus, which would be a good win…
- I need loo rolls and am going to see if our Al’s do the double roll sized big packs of their posh one as we’ve been using that at work and it’s astonishingly good. on this occasion I’m going to put the cost of those to the household account as it is less squeaky than the grocery pot!- electric used overnight is 4.6kWh - that includes the DW, some of the spare bedding washed and dried, bread machine on with a loaf for breakfast, the slow cooker and this mornings and kettle and coffee-machine action as well. Cost to this point though is just 73p which is very reasonable indeed.- gas use last night was kept down a little by the fire being lit - once that is done I generally turn the central heating to set-back.
- the soup being made in the SC will feed us at lunchtime with some for the freezer as well. I do still ideally need a small pot of cream to add to that. I’ve just turned the SC down to low as well as everything is cooked through and now it’s just about melding flavours.
- prolific is now sitting at a shade under £40 which is an excellent month for me. It does seem to have slowed down this last week, but I’m still delighted with that and it will be a cracking boost to my tech replacement pot.Today we have a voluntary role meeting (online) at 10am - then the rest of the day will about generally pottering about getting the house a bit sorted for our friends visiting tomorrow. Thankfully M&L are not the sort of people for whom a full intensive deep clean is required - well be aiming for “clean, but not pristine” which is a perfect level as far as I’m concerned! We do need to sort food as well, and some additional beer I think, although they’ll probably bring some with them too.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Hope you’ve got some arnica for the bruises. Have a lovely weekend and you’ve reminded me I’ve got some sweet potatoes that need turning into soup.LTotal Debt Dec 07 £59875.83 Overdrafts £2900,New Debt Figure ZERO !!!!!!:j 08/06/2013

Thanks L - that’s a good point, the face bruises all have broken skin around them so I can apply anything like that but the knees would likely benefit from arnica!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I think I'd be a mix of horrified and fascinated at a black eye too 😂 Hope the soreness eases soon though.
Well done on your overnight electric use! I see we have some negative pricing tonight - I think the first since I switched to Agile. Very low from half 9 and negative from 10 I think - I'm out this evening but should be back around half 10/11 so might get something ready to go into the oven and just get Mr C to set a reminder to turn it on! 😂4 -
Your fall sounds horrific, it must have been a very heavy one to break your glasses. Make sure you take it easy this weekend. I have had accidental black eyes due to bumps and falls. People looked very askance at me when I went out. Although I don’t have a smart meter (lack of a good mobile signal) I am fascinated by all this sophisticated planning of energy use. Thank you, as always, for sharing the nitty gritty details of money saving.3
