Greenbee I confess it was at least in part the thought of needing to get up and get the load on the airer this morning that put me off going back down for the washing...hopefully we'll have another decent night before too long!
Redo the podcast that had the reference to that "clean as you go" principle was a recent "Should I Delete That" with an "extreme cleaner" type person - from TikTok I believe. The podcast itself was fascinating - although that specific reference was just a mention at the end when she was talking about how she keeps on top of mess and clutter in her own home. So not specifically about that subject, but interesting nonetheless.
I suspect probably not worth spending money on the pearls - they aren't really something I would wear as a general rule, and allowing that I don't have anyone in the family to pass them on to when I'm gone, and them not being "valuable" as such, my money is probably best kept for other uses!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Perhaps you could just wear the pearls at home rather than when you go out EH so that if the string does break the pearls will be contained!

Lovely idea to do a Christmassy nice things advent.
Yep that's exactly the advent point with the pearls! Fix 'em or sell 'em or string them on the tree, they're not living their best life never being used!

It's beginning to sound a lot like Christmas round here! I think we will all have fun coming up with some MSE style fun things to brighten our advents. Not entirely MSE but a bit MSE - thanks to @Sun_Addict I bought the candle advent calendar from that retailer at that price and found I had £5 off due to previous, less sensible candle buying sprees.3

You all know I am now planning a delve through my jewellery box over the weekend now, don't you!
Wordle in 3 is a decent start to the day. MrEH is now also hooked and also did it in 3, but I beat him yesterday (much to his frustration) so still good!
Oyster feeding happened yesterday as planned.
Need to remind MrEH today about CC money as I want to get that cleared back to zero.
Some useful looking Lil's offers in the app this week so I may shop there rather than T's or Al's as I had originally planned - if I do that will get me over the £50 threshold to get the free fruit item too - so I'll need to factor that in. (And remember that I either need to go back to get that, or can't buy anything frozen as it will defrost by the time I get back through the tills for a second time! Annoyingly I can't rely on the voucher popping up in the app for immediate use either). I've already got most of the bones of a meal plan in place - and ideally plan a batch cook on Sunday too I think - as it looks like the electricity prices might be relatively low. (Fingers crossed - they certainly haven't been for much of November!)
Last night's tea was a very tasty sausage and mushroom risotto - using up a couple more cooked sausages from the freezer - and tonight is a good old favourite of thai inspired fish stew, with microwave rice for quick and easy cooking. I'm planning to cheat and use one of the oriental flavouring stockpots I bought for pennies in FF's ages ago for the spicing in that which should work well and make it even quicker to cook as well. fish for that was got out to defrost last night. Tomorrow still currently undecided - although it might be that we'll pop to the pub when MrEH finishes work, and then come back via the chippy...

I am with you on Lidl having to go back in. We have self serve tills and we do two transactions each (two apps) when we are out shopping luckily not any long queue in ours. Also wanted to say thank you for your mention of downloading the Nero free coffee in advance on Oct@pus I never knew you could do that but worked a treat and they had sold out by the time I used mine yesterday.

The credit for the coffee thing belongs elsewhere- possibly SA’s thread? It’s a genius idea though!Well we have a bit of all-change here - mainly on the food front but also on the “might go to the pub tonight” front, as on the way back to the car last night I went flying and head butted the pavement. We’ve worked out that I probably slipped on ice - literally one moment we were walking along chatting, and the next I was about to impact the pavement head first! I’ve a big lump and a gash on my forehead, a cut across the bridge of my nose where my glasses impacted - plus other cuts and grazes on my nose and top lip - oh and a fat lip where my teeth must have dug in, although (thankfully, vanity I confess but the first thing I checked) my teeth are fine! Lots of swelling around the centre of my face, and my glasses are trashed - frames bent and scratched, and the lenses scraped as well - ironic as they had only just been replaced! Also sore on my left knee - that’s not wanting to bend too much - right elbow and shoulder and bizarrely the back of my right hand too. There was a lot of blood - and once again I demonstrated that I am indeed NOT a panicker by staying where I had landed until I was confident of exactly what had happened, then calmly requesting tissues from MrEH (who is also thankfully, not a panicker!) in order to get pressure on my forehead quickly and before standing up to avoid bleeding all over my clothes! 🤣🤣 The lady who got out of a car (ironically the one that was parked where it should have been and which caused me to change direction to where I slipped in the first place!) to see if I was OK however very much was a panicker and I was very glad to escape her fussing although I do appreciates t it was from a place of genuine concern!
This morning I am feeling very sore and battered - my spare glasses are struggling to fit comfortably with the swelling around my nose which isn’t helping and neither is the thought of now having to part with several hundred pounds more for replacement ones! Last night’s tea ended up being cheese and crackers as no way did I fancy cooking when we got home! The fish stew will now be done tonight though as we will not be going to the pub as I don’t particularly want to take my poor swollen face into that sort of environment right now!The other change is that we now have friends visiting on Sunday, and staying over too, which will be excellent fun! Need to work out if we will be staying in, or whether we might head to the taproom and that in turn will inform what we do about food. I’m going to shop today as usual I think though, then workout Sunday’s food from there.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Oh you poor thing!
I suppose all one can say is that at least it wasn't worse, and if events outside your control had to occur and you were given the choice between paying for replacement glasses or having a broken bone you'd definitely go for the glasses cost...
Not much comfort at the moment though I know. The MSE newsletter sometimes mentions deals on glasses so might be worth having a rummage around this site to see if there's a black friday deal on?
Keep warm and cosy x5 -
Oh no! So sorry about your face plant, and sorry you had to encounter a panicker as well 😂 take it easy today, hope you're feeling better soon4
