  • Oh no, hope you are feeling a bit better today. Sounds like you were lucky it wasn't worse. My friend slipped on ice last winter and ended up with a broken shoulder as well as cuts to head. Its so easily done. This is why I won't go out when its bad. I have managed to break a shoulder and then a wrist by falling without ice, so certainly don't want to risk it on the ice. Get lots of rest.  Is there any chance your glasses are covered by any sort of insurance?

  • Much sympathy - glad your teeth are ok though!
  • Oh EH - so sorry to learn that you had a bad fall.  But thank heavens that it was the glasses that broke under pressure, and not your bones.

I don't suppose accidental damage on a home insurance policy might cover glasses?  We haven't taken it on our home insurance, so I don't know if it would be a category.

Sorry to hear you had an unfortunate accident last night. Take time and recover, next few days more bruising might appear. Stay in and snuggle under a blanket .xx

Ouch to the fall, sounds like you went down with a bump.  Hope all the bruising settles down and you are not too uncomfortable.

Sorry to hear about your fall but at least it was just your glasses that got broken.  Definitely worth investigating whether your house insurance would cover new glasses although likely to put up next year's premiums if you do claim so might not be worth it by the time you've added in the excess.

Yikes EH - that was quite the spectacular unfortunate incident! - Please do take time to rest and recupe - don't be brave, be sensible!!!!!

If you have a simple prescription, I've had great luck with specky-4-eyes - they have lovely frames and fabulous service - and the best part is that they can also be cheap with selective purchasing.  I have 5 different pairs ranging from clear to tinted to sunglasses and together they all cost around 150 pounds!  My proper reading glasses were had from the opticians and they are plain no-nonsense and cost more than the 5 other pairs combined!
