EH , we watched the airshow as well , sorry to hear the trains weren't good for you. I love the B supermarket as well , I always go shopping there when in Windermere . I have my breakdown cover with a company not really that common , I think it was recommended once on MSE .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.6

Haha PiP we were VERY glad we had the car, and I am thoroughly looking forward to cracking open a Wilde Childe "Brownie Hunter" tomorrow night! That was the best of it - just finding plenty of cracking beers from breweries we really like, but rarely manage to get beers from! (And that brewery in particular brews an absolutely superb complex dark beer!)
L - totally agree about the breakdown cover - definitely wouldn't risk not having it, especially as it can be had for such a reasonable price these days. SG - Booths is fab isn't it - I know it's more expensive than some, but it's always great to find so much stuff that's a bit different to the normal!
Well here we are at half way through the month - waved goodbye to £190 for the CT this morning, and now we will be thoroughly into the quiet zone. Not a bad thing - these days I appreciate the value of "not much happening on the financial front" as it means that all is well!
Pub this evening after work as is our normal now - honestly, it might only be a short visit but it's such a nice way to round off my working week! Tea is going to be risotto I think - using some of the home grown courgette (I've been given some runner beans grown by a friend of a friend too - so those might be going in to the risotto, although I may yet just divert back to the old favourite of throwing in frozen peas.) I'm going to top it off with some crumbled feta I think - I've got some that needs using, and although it's not MrEH's favourite cheese, he will eat it happily enough thrown into something like that. The courgette will be freshly picked when we get home tonight - yum! A nice budget friendly, tasty tea anyway, within pretty minimal cooking time.
Got out for a run after work last night - the first mile was painful as hell - but I stuck with it and feel entirely less achey and sore today than I have done all week which is a result. I was expecting it to be far more comfortable to run in as the temperature had dropped from when I last ran, but the humidity was sky high so it was still sticky and unpleasant! Ideally I will try to get out again either tomorrow or Saturday, but a lot will depend on the temperature and again, humidity. I do always have the option of running round the woods and playing field from home, anyway.
Opted in to the Octopods free electricity thing later - and as a result we have set both the DW and the WM to run during that hour. Bit surprised to have had no acknowledgement from them of signing up to it, but hopefully all will be well. Ultimately it's stuff we'd have done anyway, just at a different time. The WM load is bedding, so that will go on the line first thing tomorrow as well for a nice bit of free drying!

I’ve not had Brownie Hunter, EH, but we’ve definitely had some from Wilde Childe at ‘our’ tap room. I love a dark beer too, as does SIL (both quite partial to a mild), but there’s definitely still an expectation that ladies should be drinking lighter beers 🙄
We love a trip to Booths too- good range of beer and generally interesting ranges.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Vix their beers are cracking - the other one I managed to get a couple of cans of was "Clique Fiesta" which I've also had previously at a beer festival and is lush! I think you're right about it being viewed with some surprise when women order dark beers - particularly stronger ones too. Having said that, the staff in the pub I use on a Thursday aren't taken in the least surprised when I request a pint of the 5% stout now - I think they've got used to me!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

risotto sounds tasty and prompts me to include a risotto on next week's meal plan. MrBC nabbed a Lidl f&v
box today which included 2 red and 1 green pepper, spring onions, basil and lots of cherry tomatoes that were rolling around the box so that sounds like a great basis for a risotto as a change from pasta. Box also had lots of bananas, potatoes, some nectarines and mint so MrBC did very well!
