Ha Staffordia - mine is indeed set up to do exactly that! 😂
PiP I’ve got two different G@rnier ones - both with vitamin C, one is a brightening spf25 serum one, the other is spf50 and I’ve found both to be really good. Both came via the big river site at a very reasonable price (under £10 each) too so very accessible.BC glad you got in there too on the regular saver, I can’t see they will leave it in place for long, in fact I wonder if they pulled it briefly then reinstated yesterday afternoon as MrEH had problems opening his at his first attempt.
My word isn’t it HOT?! I thought today was meant to be cooler, but it’s definitely not feeling it here, and after a cloudy, hazy start the sun has been beating down too. No run sadly - my knees and ankles said no first thing and the temperature has said no ever since!
Wordle - 4th attempt
Wordiply - still thinking about it!MSE Stuff:
- 3 loads of washing through and dry or on the line drying now, including bedding and towels
- MrEH’s car dropped off for MoT first thing this morning after he realised last night that it expires tomorrow… 🙄 I did suggest a couple of weeks ago he should double check the date… no idea when Neil will be able to do it for him, but at least it’s sorted and won’t be on the road past the point where it would be an issue.- new sheets ordered for our bed, to collect from the store that suits us best. Essentially “free” too as MrEH used a voucher he was given through work which still had more than enough on it to cover the cost!- made use of both a 20p off veg and salad, and a £1 off your shop coupon to get the tomatoes I wanted in the C0-0p last night for £1.10
- weekly shopping done, including making use of a few decent offers via the Lil’s app - halloumi, tinned salmon, pasta, the 2 packs for £1 avocados plus I bought a chicken which will get roasted at some stage probably tomorrow to feed us over the following few days.- good news - qualified for my free bakery item so nabbed the nice sourdough-type rye bloomer. Bad news - that means the shopping was over £50 which is painful for just three bags worth!- banks checked and all good.
- checked my initial payment had landed in Pr1nc1pal1ty ok
- No luck on the PBs this month. We’re still well under £1k holding through so I’m really not expecting anything !- realised that as we have the right sort of TV contract we can sign up for D1scovery+ for free, so I have, and we now have access to all the Olympic coverage we could possibly want, which is lovely! 😁Today has been a pottering about sort of day. Odds and ends done in the garden, washing of course, washing up, a bit of a tidy round, stripping the bed, dusting round upstairs…nothing major, but the place looks a bit tidier for it which is nice after a slightly chaotic few weeks. This evening we are going to have my birthday takeaway and are trying a well established kebab van as long as it’s open, it will be fish and chips if not!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

At least the MOT hasn't triggered road tax issues. I couldn't get the little car in on time which meant I couldn't renew the tax so had to SORN it for a couple of days then couldn't tax it online for a few days once the MOT was done. No 'grace' period anymore, etc.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

You can sign up for MOT reminders on the gov website. They email you a month in advance. It's really handy."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee4

Thanks all - Redo, he did the tax as soon as the reminder landed so at least that wasn’t an issue! Jwil - oh yes, I know, but this was his car, not mine! I’ve got mine noted in a document which also has all the insurance information in it too so Imcan just go straight there to pick up on anything needed for mine! Will he remember next year that it doesn’t align with the date he bought the car? Well, we’ll see, won’t we! 😆 Thanks SH - we’re not aware of anything which might cause a problem, but you never really know, do you!Beanie & PiP, the takeaway was lovely! The kebab van had mostly sold out of lamb Shish so we actually ended up sharing a mixed shish, which was a decent size, very tasty, AND they used Turkish bread rather than pitta which is a huge win in my world! I got a large portions of chips from the chippy, and then threw those into the air fryer when we got home, just for 5 minutes topped off with a handful of cheese and they were also really tasty, we’ll definitely be doing that again!Anyway, I’m just popping in for bragging rights….

Ooh well done!
We've done for Discovery+ too although in our case not free - but I realised it was only £3.99 so deemed it worth it for a month to not have to trawl through all the commentary 😂 And be able to watch eg all of the gymnastics floor routines. I do love the jumping and twirling (although I did fall asleep in front of the trampolining last night, clearly a bit too repetitive 😂)5 -
Three goes for me on Wordle today, two is splendid indeed 😁5

EH - popping on to thank you (I think it was you 🤣) for the idea of having a tech pot to fund phones, laptops, tablets & headphones along with covers & screen protectors!
I did a little shuffle of things in YNAB this morning and have discovered that 34 pounds a month is the average of our spends since 2016! Not a small chunk either but that does mean that we've not spent nearly as much in the 'household' category as I'd though! Have budgeted 3 months worth (Aug/Sep/Oct) as Autumn appears to be when we purchase all things techy! If we incur an expense this autumn, then I'll top up from savings!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage!
