Data for August has now been published by HMCTs and timings are worse than in July. We're nearly 6 weeks in (after 20 days with HMRC) so not expecting to be able to market the house til Jan. Frustrating to say the least0

Thank you. Our estate agent did mention that but we don't want to mess anyone around especially if a possible buyer has a house to sell. If 16 wks was the max it would be ok but I've read stories of 20 wks plus with no end in sight1

Long time lurker - first time poster...
Sent applications for both parents back in June - both in the same envelope.
One was granted exactly 14 weeks later and the other was granted 16 weeks and 1 day later (done whilst I was speaking to the Probate Office for a progress report). Both were excepted estates with money in the bank and a house to sell (tenants in common).
The house has been on the market for 8 weeks.0 -

Hi, I'm a new user so can't post links but it's : Gov.co.uk - Courts, sentencing and tribunals, statistics at hmcts, monthly management information - you then have the option of different years. In 2023 the latest covers Aug 2022 to Aug 2023 and was released yesterday0

I wonder why given all the new staff etc0 -
I can't believe how bad it has got. When I did my mothers in Aug 15 it took 2 weeks for probate. The whole thing was done & dusted by the end of October & that included a reissued cheque from HMRC that the care home had held onto for so long she actually died (like 3 months).
