  • Me neither. There were meant to be 30-40 additional staff taken on at the beginning of the year. They should be up to speed by now, surely

So I contacted my solicitor today to find out what happens next...
        probate is granted
house exchange and completes on 23rd October
        what next?

Solicitor asked me to instruct estate agent to send house payment to them to hold, might be another 2-3 months
Me: "Can you not do it before christmas, my mortgage doubles as of January?!"
Solicitor: "I will try my hardest to get it all done by Christmas!"

basically, meters need to be read, they need t o contact, water company, electric and gas and council tax etc

Surely all that bit would be quite quick?? They have all been notified when my dad died?
why do they drag it out?

It does seem to take a while, but found if thaws any interaction things seem to sped up.

for example after sending the will in,after 3 weeks website was saying they were still waiting, emailed them, then magically online it was recieved and had a query, answered that with a vague answer as question they had was vague.

Few weeks later emailed asking if my answer was what they needed. No response on that, but then an email sent saying probate has been granted.
  • Hi, that's good to know, thank you
