I started my second hand September trawl around the cs today. Spent £12 in the first one That bought me 2 packs of new cards for Isaac Newton's birthday, two packs from a sewing part work, a tin with a Scottie dog and a Westie on, 3 necklaces, 4 bracelet/ bangles (+ 2 undecided) and a quilting book. In the second shop I only bought a birthday card and in the third I bought a s-h pack of cards (4 different polar bear designs but the polar bears are soft and velvety), 2 packs of stickers (the animal ones are little magnet ones that can be put on the background picture and taken off again), another craft book and a fireman's helmet. Went in b'n'm for marg (remembered I'd bought scones then found I had no marg - but all the fridges and freezers need cleaning) and 3 fancy tins (with shortbread in them, but that will go to the food bank). I'd noticed one a couple of weeks ago and was going to go back for it at some point, It's now moved out of food into seasonal and there were 2 more with it. I Also finally picked up a pair of secateurs as what's left of gardening (one small board) is in with motoring.
On the way back, I went back to the first cs and now have a wicker laundry basket for £2. Came home, sat on the couch with DS3 but the chat became rather morbid (he was trying to work out if he'd seen anyone who was dead) and then I persuaded him to bring my 2 heavy bags upstairs (I just dragged myself up). More rubbish gathered but not out to the bins yet.
Grateful for having fun in cs, remembering the important purchases and chat with DS3 (I compared favourably with all the dead people)9 -

@KajiKita I was confused too at your post. Then after reading @apple_muncher & @f0xh0les ones, I realised it was me that had done it, not something you had typed as doing 🤣 duh! And I don't have covid to use as an excuse!! I must've been tired when I typed & not spellchecked 😂 Yes, it was indeed a sewing job (double checked my typing there 😉), though axe throwing would've been more fun!
Got up at a nearly normal weekday time. Decided to clean the living room windows, as DH had gone back to bed after his breakfast & medications. Went for a walk together when he re-woke.
Pinned a woman into an extremely short dress. She was worried about it gaping at the bust too, think I'd be more worried about catching a cold if I bent over... Finished a couple of sewing jobs with minutes to spare before I left the house. Managed to snap up a hammock for £5 off a local selling page 😃 won't have to borrow DS1's now. We'll probably be fighting over who gets to use the tree 🤣
Had an early tea, then I cut the grass & moved 5 pallets. DH would like to use them for building or making a fence, rather than chopping them up for the fire. Started to rain when I came inside, so good timing.
Grateful for a nice but VERY windy walk, the grass being cut, my new hammock, DS1 opening up about feeling overwhelmed & low in moodUse it up, wear it out

Hi Turtles,
What a scorcher today. It certainly does lift your mood. I'm not good in this heat so my face resembled a very unattractive sweaty tomato! How I dream of being pale and interesting, lol.
Went to a large car boot sale this morning. Missed going with Mum as she's at the seaside till tomorrow but got quite a few 10p-20p items for the shoebox appeal. Had a chat with some of the sellers which was nice.
Came back and made a sandwich and a cuppa. Had been tempted to get some fast food instead but resisted and saved the money. Supposed to go on holiday next week but my uncle is seriously ill and I think mum might cancel, which is understandable. We'd booked a house for 5 adults and were already reduced to 3, 2 if she doesn't go, but if she feels she needs to be here then i can't blame her. Not sure what will happen.
A local farm had an open day selling flowers and teas today. They made a lovely posy for me so I've put them in a vase on the table for mum returning tomorrow. Such beautiful colours. Their open day had apparently been a great success so I'm really pleased for the young couple and everyone that helped them.
Waited till it got cooler then mowed the lawn for mum. Luckily it's only small so it was done in 10 minutes. Said I'd vac her stairs too but will do them tomorrow night instead.
My neighbour was chatting and said he's got a glut of tomatoes to make into passata but is short of bottling jars. Finally I have found someone to give my bag of jars to! Hallelujah! I can't bear throwing jars away in the recycling so I'm very pleased.
Grateful for lots of small cheap toys at the car boot, a warm welcome and beautiful flowers at the farm, getting the lawn cut once it was cooler, next doors cats coming round for a fuss and finding a new home for my jars!

Evening turtles 🐢
Woke just before my alarm this morning, got up and went to the gym. Mixed up my routine and upped my weights (only by 1kg but still). Felt good when I left but knackered!
Busy day at work, drove to a visit and back but worked from home the rest of the day. Got a load of washing done and dried in this glorious weather! And a couple of small admin frogs.8 -
Good Evening 🌞
Today has been HOT!!! It is always a double edged sword for me because on the up side - I feel brighter in mood and more motivated - but on the downside - my apartment turns into a sauna, even with a fan. I got myself out this morning when it was cooler and managed a trip to the gym - though wasn't a full on session. Resisted going to the shops after. Tomorrow I may stay home if its hot in the morning when my flat is cool - then head out later 🤷🏻♂️
Crashed energy-wise this afternoon around 2pm and it is definitely my medication probably compounded by the heat. Was kind to myself, cancelled a friend who was due over - and gave myself space to just rest.
Well done Apple! I am managing to keep to my routine pretty much - even forcing myself to wash the dishes when I didn't feel up to it before bed. I think if I didn't have it listed I'd have let it slide... so it is keeping me accountable.
Today I am grateful for:
1) Driving with the windows down and sunroof open playing some tunes
2) My electric fan - i love love LOVE you!!!
3) Old novels from my teenage years. Spent the afternoon quietly reading
