Wow, how is it the 3rd alreadyUp to NSD #2 yesterday, but today won't be one, as there is a small food festival in the park nearby and it would be rude not to go! Tomorrow won't be either, as it is shopping day.We are getting cold mornings and lovely days at the moment. At last the rain has stopped! Definitely feels like autumn though.Lazy day today - did some garden tidying and batch cooking yesterday, but I am sure I will find some jobs to do. The ironing pile is in my line of sight for a start!Grateful for lovely weather, and that the big jobs are done for the weekend7

I'm struggling a bit, to be honest. Over the last week the usual cold, cough, sore throat (especially the sore throat) have come back and I feel physically very weak. In addition, it would have been mum's 88th birthday at the beginning of last week so I'm a bit sad. It may just be that I'm feeling weak and old but I'm overwhelmed and things I've 'sorted' don't seem to stay sorted or for every challenge I 'fix' another 3 jobs appear.
So thinking positively, some of the things I achieved last week (aka Progress), some of which are just ordinary things that I may not have reported:-
1 Unblocked my bank account and have a new pinsentry machine - these make accessing my bank account (more jobs to do) and getting food into the house much simpler.
2 I was able to check my bank account and mum's Council Tax Rebate has finally been paid (it's only taken c 17 months but my half is enough to cover the replacement lenses for my existing glasses)
3 New glasses have made things much clearer (also a possible reason I've struggled with embroidery projects)
4 I used kindle for the first time (I need to tackle audible next and maybe borrowbox - available through my library)
5 DS3 put the trellis panels outside for me (in the backs so they're not obstructing the path up and down the garden which I've been clearing slowly for about 3 weeks)
6 Rubbish and recycling I'm still on a mission to get as much out of the house as possible and r & r followed by clearing the floors is working okay. Lots went out before the bins were emptied.
The Hydra Headed Monster
1a Need to move some cash to savings accounts and go back to updating mum's accounts
2a One thing done, need to return to other 'unfinished' business
3a Need to look seriously at wip and decide what to do. Continue to resist buying craft supplies for 'projects I'd like to do (until I establish whether I can do them at all)
4a I have a love hate relationship and there are lots of other things i need to get to grips with
5a I'm not at all sure that I can still put the trellis up the way I wanted it, even with help May go with the back up plan of a holly hedge (or berberis/ -is that the dark red very spiky thing). Trellis still needs painting, as do the decking boards and the 2 x 2s which were for the frame of the trellis (have other uses for them). Also checking each morning to see if they've been stolen (and not sure I care any more)
6a I had a target of 5 bags of rubbish for Friday (found some half size rubble sacks and had one bag already started - several full bin bags in the bin so need something to fill in the gaps and using up odd bags simplifies things). Friday did not go according to plan but 2 bags done yesterday plus a bin bag of cans and bottles (bin went out on Tuesday so those were accumulated since) and 2 or 3 paper bags on the go (my get filled or be condensed).
Yesterday was mostly a write off (recuperating whilst binge watching the second series of Screw, followed by the Replacement - was going to stop at 9 pm but was at a gripping point so finished it and then got sucked into Millionaire Hoarders) plus reading, plus easy to prepare and eat food (grateful for ice cream and yoghurt).
So my plan for today is to continue treating myself gently and identify areas where I can continue to make progress with emphasis on minimal effort tasks. I have some appointments to make and want to speak to the prescribing doctor at the surgery (3 issues). Rubbish removal will continue and may try to get rid of more bulky furniture items (I'm not sure if the 3 seater couch is going to be worth the bother of transporting with DS3 and Beloved but might be worth keeping until they go). There are definitely some things I won't be able to manage on my own (no I haven't yet got a date for them moving out) and weren't things I chose in the first place (the curse of the 'good' wardrobes mum made me bring back 184.86 miles, only to
then tell me they were going to my house (it might be worth another look at anything that came from mum's).
I need some 3 month or end of year targets. I also need to do things that make me feel good (staycation) and I have the beginnings of a 'wish list' of things I want/ need (upgrading to linen sheets and more white towels). Need to find some small items to add in.
Grateful for time for reflection, pausing to list what I did get done, plans to organise and the 'to do's and behead the hydra (enlist help)8 -

It is either a sewing job 🪡 🧵 or Axe throwing club🪓. Either of which she will have done brilliantly.
Small 🦩🦩 shop so still on NSD2.
Took visitors to event in local park. Laughed at people trying to get their hounds to do dog agility. Found out about another local place to explore. Listened to a very good brass band. All for free. No other family came, so it was just me and the in-laws, but there you go. I got my 10k steps in, and stuff for lunch boxes.

Evening turtles. Bit of a lie in today, lasted until 7.30 before I woke up, that's almost unheard of! Went horse riding but was feeling quite groggy, so decided to just keep it low key and focus on my posture and positioning today, always good to remind myself I can't slouch like I'm on a sofa!
Not done much else today, did a little tidy up in my aquarium, watched some TV and went for a little walk later this afternoon. Had a bath and have just had dinner. I asked OH to give the bathroom a quick clean before I went out this morning but still not done. Am determined not to do it myself but it's literally a 10 minute job...Save £3,000 emergency fund #79 - £2,066.55 as of 04/248 -
After falling over yesterday, I had headache for most of the day, trip to the allotment, walking the dog, big drink of water and painkillers didn't help. However cake helped enormously and not bought by me. Always nice when someone else buys you cake. Another nsd no. 3 as the only thing I bought was hay-fever meds.
Grateful for
1) the birds and the bees
2) pain relieving cake
3) that dad's steroids have kicked in
