Agile Pricing - strange things are afoot...

The latest Agile prices from Octopus show a sudden uncharacteristic drop in the rates at 22:30 this evening - 8p (ish) when you'd expect 18p (ish). Does anybody know why?

Its a bit of an odd one, especially when the hourly Nordpool pricing suggests it should be nowhere near 8p - there isnt a sudden plunge in wholesale pricing tonight

Nothing in the early Tuesday pricing there to suggest it should be around the 8p mark there either, so be interesting to see the Agile pricing for tomorrow later on today.

Thanks. Thinking about it I have noticed that there is a slight dip most evenings at about 22:30 so I guess there's something that happens about then, but I've no idea what it is.

The Nordpool pricing suggests it should be nowhere near 8p, though, if you look at pricing just before 2230-2300

Less demand as people go to bed?

...but dip is usually 30 mins only and comes back up at 23:00 before starting to fall again after midnight (typically)?

Indeed it's only a half hour blip, up 10p by 11pm, so you only have half an hour to take advantage tonight

... actually works quite well for me in the hot weather - will put the aircon on for 30 minutes at 22:30 which will cool bedrooms to a comfortable temperature for a good night's sleep. More expensive tomorrow than it's been for a while, instead of being massively cheaper than the SVR it's only much cheaper :-)

It's because people are so depressed after they watch all the doom and gloom on the news that they turn all their TVs, social media off for 30 minutes :)

The first 2 months of nightly covid is what switched us off the news.

It knows I like a shower before I go to bed.
