  • Sorry, I'm not well and it's probably obvious, how do I add the info in the judgement link to my document? Everything else I found pictures on google and used C&P. I've saved the files, do I insert each image individually or is there a way to import them all at once?

You don't import anything into your WS.

You save your numbered exhibits as PDFs then merge (and then compress) them in the right order, into a single PDF (use a free online tool) with the contents and page number list at the top, so it is easy for the Judge to follow & see what each exhibit is.

Then you might want to also do a costs schedule if it will cost you a day off work (loss of salary or loss of leave) to attend this hearing, or if there are other costs to claim.

Then email all 3 PDF attachments to the local court and cc in the Claimant's solicitors.

The judgment link can just be a URL link.  It will save you a lot of pages.  Or save it as a PDF and attach it.

  • Thanks, that's a lot easier than the way I was doing it.

I'm going to have to come back from holiday to attend, could I add those costs in? (400 mile round trip driving). I stupidly didn't put the dates down as unavailable on the previous form because it asked for dates within six months and the holiday was beyond that timeframe.

Thanks for taking the time to help.

Yes add that to your costs schedule and in your covering email, tell the court and solicitors that you are out of the country so attending the hearing will include travel costs to return to the UK, therefore the Claimant is hereby on notice of this costs exposure due to their unreasonable conduct in this litigation.

Add the details out (proof of holiday) to your attachments and an estimate of cost.

  • It's Leeds court, I'm having to drive back from Hay on Wye for the hearing and go straight back down.

OK.  So you told us you tried to appeal:

I got a private parking ticket last September because my blue badge was partially obscured. It was in a retail park where parking is free, there were plenty of available spaces and so neither the landlord or parking firm faced monetary costs.
I wrote to the landowner who didn’t reply.
I then wrote to the parking firm who said it was too late they’d sent it to collections.
Please earn yourself £60 and help regulate the parking industry.  This is an official thing and MSE Towers has agreed I can share it...

Short notice but do the survey now (and then a short & friendly video call next week) to tell the Government's consultancy outsourced firm your experience of 'appealing' and being told 'it's too late, tough':

URGENT - help us push the regulation of the parking industry and new appeals service over the line.  There should be appeal (ADR) available at ALL stages to keep cases out of court.

  • I will do that, thank you.

One final, quick, silly question - where do I send the witness statement? I got the court notice via email, should I reply to that (orders @ courtemailaddress)?

Try copying in 'hearings@' as well. Or call the court and ask.  You could also ask them if they have a 50 page limit on WS bundles.

I am glad if people pleeease take part in the research. The work is nearly there, trust me.
