Where to Start?
Hello everyone 😁 How lovely to see friends here - old and new. You are all very welcome 😘
Mr F and I have had lots of discussions about the business and it's looking like we'll be setting up a Limited Company with both of us as Directors. This is mainly because some potential clients require it. There is little, if any, tax benefit to us once you take off the extra costs and time involved. Mr F is having conversations at the moment with anyone who has expressed an interest in a contract and asking for their terms before we make a final decision.
My shoulder is still causing me a problem so I've made a face-to-face appointment to see the Doctor - 28th September.😲 Something I'm doing for my mental health at the moment is re-drawing boundaries with some family members which is very liberating... for me. I'm not sure they're liking it much 🤷♀️ Sometimes we let family get away with treating us in a way we would never entertain from anyone else... but there are limits.
We are getting lots of produce from the veg patch and the meal plan is being built around that. We've had Green Bean Minestrone to make use of green and broad beans and chard (substituted for spring cabbage), Tomato & Courgette Risotto but using a tin of cherry tomatoes instead of fresh (the recipe says it serves 2 but there was definitely enough for 4 servings with the tinned tomatoes), and Smoked Haddock Gratin with mash to make use of spinach and potatoes. The veg patch is really helping us to keep under the grocery budget so I'm hoping for a late summer to extend the season.
I met up with a girlfriend yesterday to visit a local historic house and garden. We had a good catch up over coffee and cheese scones in the tea shop and popped back later for a welsh rarebit lunch. Costs will be met from my personal spends budget (as I still have one at the moment) and it was money well spent as I felt refreshed and restored after.
So, after the big 'Ta-Da' of opening a new diary, there's nothing much to report 😂 But maybe that's a good thing.
Happy Hump Day people 😁

There are some advantages to a ltd co. Don't quote me on this but I think the co can contribute from profits to your pensions, which whilst don't get the 20% tax added for personal contributions reduce taxable profits.

Do you need to practice assertiveness for your medical appointments? Surely you can say its an emergency - you are in pain and need to see someone the same day? 6 weeks is for things that don't really matter / medication reviews surely....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

It's so nice for you to worry about me SH but there's no need. I'm not in any great pain, just a little sore at the end of the day, and it's nothing over-the-shelf medication can't control. It's just that I'd almost got over it and then it came back (not as bad) so I'm just wondering whether it's something that will need some extra help to shift. I am certain that it's nothing serious - we think tendonitis and that can take months to resolve and recur.
But it's lovely to have someone looking out for me 😘
