Cold pizza is my favourite breakfast - but now that we do cook once & eat twice for most of our meals, the extra pizza usually gets portioned and frozen so that future 'us' doesn't have to cook.4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! I think I could just about tolerate cold pizza for breakfast RT 🤢 We usually cook once and eat twice too - some days it means no cooking at all 🥳

Blimey Humdinger - that's a bit of a marathon. I'm surprised you're not 'drowning' in all the niff-naff and trivia I feel compelled to share 😆 Thank you for your kind words 😘

Me too Beanie. Much as I love cooking, it's nice to get a day off sometimes. Maybe DS could rustle up a birthday meal for you next time?

Hold fire 🔫
We did not register the company yesterday. Mr F had a meeting with his previous manager (he's still been involved whilst the handover to narcissistic manager is taking place) and it was all a bit odd. We got the sense that something was going on behind the scenes. Old manager was strangely reticent to talk about a handover plan and whether any moves were happening to find a replacement for Mr F. Both managers have said they hope Mr F will stay involved with the company and suggested this should be in a greater capacity than providing the services which most external resources are involved with. They have set up a meeting between the three of them in a couple of weeks time to discuss.
We think they are looking to retain Mr F's influence and connections in the industry somehow. However, that doesn't translate easily to contract work. Mr F says he'd be happy to stay on part time in some capacity if they paid him enough and he wasn't reporting to narcissistic manager. We both feel that this will come to nothing however and it's just a hook to keep him engaged. And if they value his input so much, why didn't they do more to keep him before?
Anyhoo, Mr F has a meeting in September with an organisation he would really love to work with. If he gets work with them it might mean a conflict of interest with his current employer so it makes sense to see how everything pans out before we do anything more. In the meantime, we can carry on with our research and get our ducks lined up.
I'm budgetting on the basis that we'll have no income, other than our pensions, until after Christmas now. That way we're prepared for the worst case scenario. And it wouldn't hurt Mr F to have a bit of a break after all these years.
Life goes on in the meantime. We dug up potatos from the veg patch yesterday and I blanched and froze lots of green beans. Mr F got some mowing done whilst it was still dry. We had leftover curry for lunch and supper was New Potato, Spring Onion & Montgomery Cheddar Quiche (only with ordinary cheddar 😆) with salad. I've been listening to 'A Th0r0ugh £xaminati0n' whilst doing the housework and it's put me right off ultra-processed food. We don't have much in our diet but I'd rather not have any. Thinking of getting a bread maker as shop bought bread seems to be full of 'stuff' . Any advice on breadmakers would be appreciated 😁
Hope everyone's having a good weekend.
