Heads up to anyone who lists on nextdoor or similar sites, I listed something today and got an email from nextdoor saying I need to put in bank card details to see the message someone sent me, which was annoying but no more annoying than all these sites that think they're being super efficient by asking for a ton of info immediately and unnecessarily.
So I put in my card details and then it asked for balance and I was like 'hmm, that kinda makes sense verification-wise but I have not been asked that before except by solicitors so imma look that up' so looked online and apparently this is a nextdoor account having been hacked thing. Quite embarrassed for them they're being criminal for less than a hundred quid tbh
Anyway, logged into bank account app and balance was the same so immediately froze the card and requested it be cancelled. Hopefully no harm done but very annoying! At least I had the sense to put the details of my least used account in.
But thought I'd put the reminder to be proper wary, as it seemed very much like the sort of thing a kosher site would do and there was padlock on link address, but that doesn't reflect what's happening internally in one's nextdoor etc account!

My windows are not standard sizes and I had them made up by Terrys following a recommendation on forum. Were not that much more than ready made and they send out free samples so you can check the fabrics. Were also very fast - I ordered the last pair on a Sunday and they were here the following Wednesday leading me to believe they must be a super automated factory
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!5 -

It is 34 degrees, I have insane ovulation bleeding and cramps, and I have an important client job for the next few days that is going to involve severe sleep deprivation due to deadlines and I'm already tired after last night's mega storm. I am not feeling my best self. Anyway, onwards and upwards!

Oh how horrid when this insane weather is already causing problems with motivation, energy levels & sleep. It's even 33 degrees up here! We didn't have a storm last night but my sis who is in Ealing said it was a big one over London. Our worst day looks to be Friday with 37 degrees forecast. That's just something to be borne with fortitude while looking forward to the drop back to 24 on Sunday. Poor Soot just doesn't know what to do with himself. I have followed vet advice & put out a cold damp towel for him to lie on in the shade. He ignored it. I put a few treats on it to lure him on & he ate the treats then stepped off it pronto. You just can't help some cats, can you?!
I don't think I WILL be showing much fortitude, I shall be moaning until Sunday.

2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!5
