An in-between phase

I haven't read them for years @KajiKita, am thoroughly enjoying. I said at the start of the year I would try to read more booksets for my reading aim this year, as it's too easy to ignore them on time and variety grounds. Have so far read (what I own of) the Scotland Street series by Alexander McCall Smith, and His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman. Along with many individual books I hasten to add!

Oh dear. Scotland Street by AMcS. I am not a fan. He’s so pompous.

I like the Scotland Street books for a gentle, whimsical read. [I don't do much that can be described as 'whimsical'🤣]

Jeez PIP, you have my upmost admiration for your building work. The last five weeks we have had our driveway, patio and front wall rebuilt. All went smoothly and without any hiccups. Even tho everything done was outside I still couldn’t relax, chill, got fed up with stepping over building materials, blocking the road when building materials were being delivered. Didn’t realise how stressful it is getting stuff done, have said no more building work for years. The time and all the major disasters you are having to put up with, I definitely feel for you and Mr PIP.

Aw thank you @amber03, well done on getting yours done! We keep saying it's character building, albeit the characters are borderline psychotic husks of humans 😂
