Cat has been at the vets all day poor thing, Mr PIP was allowed to take him home after 7pm. They're waiting on a few more test results and have said they don't think they will show anything immediately ominous but the tests due back at end of next week are fairly serious so fingers will remain crossed for good news all week. No sign of tumours though so that's a big relief.
It has obviously been a bit of a stressy day but I got admin done, haven't slipped behind with F&V, and the workmen say all the main jobs have been done, various people are back next week but no major works
I checked to see how many wine gift bags I had and happily have enough to have shopped from home for all my Christmas wine presents
Did a decent walk and was rewarded for my meanderings by a flat clearance so picked up a few books for reading/ziffiting plus a cute notebook
Did Christmas chocolate price comparisons in a few shops, got stocking filler chocolate coins for mum and Mr PIP and an additional little bag of Cadburys 'snow balls' for mum's stocking- I used the 25p off Cadburys voucher from coop and then used the points on my member card to pay for all three items. I resisted buying Cadbury Dime reindeers for myself which I am very impressed by, if not a little remorseful 😁
And there was actual snow while I was out which was very Christmassy!
Did some work, a couple of coop surveys, some more work then went for another little walk to drop off a vinted sale and get the free paper for the crossword
The workmen had finished by then so I wiped down all the main surfaces and swept the kitchen and bathroom and hoovered, or should I say sharked, the flat. Back is aching quite a bit
Dinner is left over quiche with sauteèd use-it-up veg, mum said we should have her bottle of prosecco to celebrate the end of the big flat works and I'm not going to argue with that.
Rest of evening is doing the crossword and reading and an earlyish night so I can start on today's to-do list tomorrow..!

Good news no sign of tumours but still an uncertainty for you with what could it be 🙁 Our fur babies are such a worry. Keeping everything crossed for you.Great to hear the building works are done 🥳
It was very cold here today and the sky was threatening snow but it didn’t happen. We rarely get snow or extremes of weather where I live, nice and cosy in the sheltered middle of the country 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
It's so hard when our pets are poorly. Keeping fingers crossed for MrPIP's cat.
we had a little flurry of snow here too.
your mum has some very wise ideas - a Friday night glass of Prosecco is well deserved after all the disruption of the building work.0 -
Thank you @Sun_Addict, much appreciated.
It was only a one flake at a time snowfall from clear blue skies, but a lovely start to December and while Christmas shopping
@Blackcats he has definitely reverted to being Mr PIP's cat rather than our cat since the bill already stands at a couple of hundred quid over what insurance will cover and that's without the multiple test findings 😁
But seriously, I am very relieved although worried about the tests' outcome, and if Ernie is kind to me on this month's PB any spare money is going to the 'you furry b*gger who we love lots' fund.
The lovely Mr PIP was suggesting last week he take me out for a meal this month for a date night and I was umming and ahhing due to knackeredness and soreness and fitting everything in before new year, so we at least have the cost of a meal and a bottle of wine we can put towards the vet bill!1 -
Fingers crossed for the cat.. and Ernie.. ( He has also been a stranger to me .. no wins since Aug so ..I am well behind the avg % win )
Lots of comps going at the moment inc lots of advent ones - the secret is its a numbers game so do loads when you watch TV etc. Plus try to find local low entry comps as you have a better chance.
Super lucky Di is v good and lovely - she has a blog and suggests comps and gives advice. her blog is superlucky.me -DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Thanks @lucielle and @LadyWithAPlan, and I'll have a look at that blog, ta.
Here's hoping for some PB luck for us this month 🤞0 -
Ugh, I did not want to get out of bed this morning, is it spring yet?!
Shoulder has been really sore all day with pins and needles in my hand so that's not helping.
But things have been done!
Put an item up on Olio with their Christmas competition hashtag and that was collected this afternoon
Admin and bits of housework, including cleaning a few items and putting them back in the bathroom. The getting the flat back in order process is going to be a long one...
Went up the road for essentials and did a little bit more of a walk for extra steps
Shoulder just about managed shower and hairwash
Entered some competitions, today I'm mostly looking forward to winning 1k but I also very much feel someone should give me at least one of the approx 1 million hampers I've entered comps for
Updated my vinted listings
Sent PiP money to emergency/dental pot
Am hoping that since it's been a month since Housing Association declined my appeal and they haven't since mentioned again their threat to charge me occupancy fees, that I'm safe to reallocate the two months rent/ bills money I'd saved aside.
Have put £1000 in a pot to put in my LISA next tax year
Will send mum £450 to cover the excess council tax from me staying here
Pondering how best to use the remaining few hundred. The options were flat pot, bolster current account so I don't need to worry about going into savings for longer, and possibly that winter break with Mr PIP but I think that's very likely completely off the cards now we have to pay for the vet doings.
Cat is apparently being very clingy today so Mr PIP has been excused from North London duties. I'm going to my mum's choir's Christmas concert so that should be nice. £15 to get in so it had better be!
