  • Well my hip partially dislocated en route, ironically because I was popping my knee back into place, but we won again!

No thanks to me I hasten to add, my general knowledge and memory are both appalling, the rest of the team let me write in the answers so I feel involved 😂
Though my one answer I got that no-one else knew was in the 'spoken lyrics' round which is surprisingly hard and can drive you absolutely mad. I'll put the clue and not the answer for quiz/music fans:
There's no point in asking you'll get no reply oh just remember I don't decide I got no reason it's all too much you'll always find us out to lunch

@foxgloves that sounds like a fab charity shop, especially stocking scores which as you say can be very pricey.
It's quite common in London, especially in my area of North London, to leave things outside for passers-by to help themselves to, it's so lovely and I've had a fair few books that I wouldn't otherwise have read that way.
Like Mr F I also get uppity if I think a quiz isn't being fairly run, but it's a shame to not go in the first place just in case! It is for Christmas time charity... if he says no to you, you can revoke his lefty points and say he's never allowed to read the Guardian again 😁

Gosh @beanielou that's a brave move by the quizmaster- hope they had good insurance in case someone nicked the lot!

    That's so nice @kayannie and @Sun_Addict,
I love those sort of community efforts

Brilliant @Blackcats the world needs more of this sort of thing (though preferably without involving FB 😁)

  • What a rainy Monday!
    Today's mse bits:

    Usual admin and flat tidying

    Couple of receipt surveys

Went for a rainy lunchtime walk

Got another 15 minutes steps on a carpet walk

Bit of small work, and looked at a remote work possibility- it turned out not to be suitable for my skills (sleeping, carousing, and complaining) but I'm pleased with myself for investigating rather than adding it to the endless to-do list

Updated some Vinted listings and a FB marketplace listing

And got a response from lidl about the mouldy grapes and they pleasantly but completely randomly sent me a voucher for £6.69...
Mr PIP had the good idea that maybe they'd refunded the receipt amount but I didn't send the receipt. Still, not turning my nose up at a couple of free meals or a free bottle of wine!

  • Haven't won anything @beanielou 😂 But as soon as I win so much as a sherbet dibdab it's going on the CV
  • More of the same, sorry for my boring posts dear readers! It would be nice to get some news about the housing situation in this lifetime but I shaln't hold my breath

    Admin and tidying

A walk to recycle some shoes Mr PIP cleared out

A few receipt surveys and a coop survey

    Very little bit of work

Another walk- trying to catch up with my missed steps from last period, still loads to do and the next dreaded period is looming! It has been a particularly sore month so trying not to be silly and overdo it, but also want to try to do the only exercise I can really do. Such a hard balance with a chronic pain condition

Entered some competitions- today I'm mostly looking forward to winning £1000 but I will also gladly take that Fortnums hamper off their hands
  • Feeling a bit overwhelmed today. Worried about cat who had another seeming-to-choke with weird grinding sound yesterday, Mr PIP has managed to book an appointment at the vets for tomorrow morning.
Also need to go back to mums sooner than planned as someone bought an item on Vinted that is in North London and tomorrow is the deadline to send it, so not looking forward to traipsing my laptop and jointy body across town. There are work drinks happening this evening that would have been nice to go to, and free bar, but would mean spending peak fare money which I can't really justify as I'm going out of my way for a £1.50 vinted sale. It's the right decision budget-wise but I'm still having a bit of a sulk that my life circumstances at the moment mean having to make decisions and miss out based on a few quid.
I'm also stressed that I still have quite a bit of Christmas shopping to do. And I'm anxious about a bit of work that needs to be done- not currently paid so I'm able to procrastinate and stress myself even more about it. And I need to shower and I don't have energy.

    So list for today is:
    Get a bloody grip
    Do todays bits of work
    Shower and wash hair
    Pack most of bag
Send apologies for absence this evening and suggest other more convenient meeting dates with key people
Do other bits of todays work
Any other bits on todays to-do list that can be relatively easily cleared
Make list on train of Christmas stuff to get and do a bit of mse research and write in diary when they are being bought asap
Get back to mums and double check the Christmas list with what I've already got
Prepare vinted item to post tomorrow
Clear as much diary to-do list for tomorrow as possible so main task can be at least getting a bad first draft of this job done and having something to progress from
Reward self with big glass of wine if all above achieved

    Tomorrow priorities:
    Vinted
Hear from Mr PIP re vets
    Job draft
    Walks, indoors or outside
    Christmas gifts progress
Focus on catching up on portions of f&v

  • Have been determinedly ticking off the to-do list all day and have achieved Level: Have a big glass of wine

Had a bit of a worry when I couldn't find the vinted item but eventually recovered it. That would have been VERY annoying!

Ridiculous coming back in the middle of the afternoon and it's already getting dark. Not long until the shortest day now though, looking forward to staring out the window and going 'do you think it's a little bit lighter than this time yesterday?' on a daily basis until the end of March

Also found 2p in the street so winning at life

It must be sooo frustrating to have to wait and wait and wait for the decision on your future housing situation.  Are there any service standards that they have to meet or can they take as long as they want?  I suspect the answer is the latter.
well done in the quiz win and being in charge of writing out the answers which is an important team role  - if you had dozed off or daydreamed through the quiz then that would have let your team down quite badly and the song lyric completely flummoxed me.
    Hope the cat is ok.
