First up - apologies for absence, feels like I've missed a LOT since I was last here!

Tentative good news on the build? Hopefully?

On the Octopus thing - don't engage with the DCA beyond telling them that there is no debt. Absolutely don't volunteer any more information to them that they don't already have either as they will use that against you! Inform Octopus that they should recall the debt from the DCA immediately as it is disputed on the basis it doesn't exist. Also I assume this is already raised as a formal complaint? If so it might be worth pointing out to them that the clock is ticking on the 8 weeks after which you can escalate to the Ombudsman...

🍻 @foxgloves. Proud of myself for doing my tiny bit of occasional minimum wage work, pathetic as that may be, but also cream crackered!

Ha I know what you mean @Sallyforth, I didn't expect one of the most challenging bits of the job to be not saying 'do you want help' and 'please use your time that's available to you'. But I'm there to see a fair exam and project a supportive vibe and otherwise keep shtum.

Thanks for the input @EssexHebridean, there has been further DCA and Octopus activity...

Popped over to mums with bits, got given some food

Free perfume sample in the post

    Usuals

    Stain treatments and laundry

    Small bit of spec work

Entered some competitions, today I'm mostly looking forward to winning money thanking you kindly

    Listed an item for sale

Debt recovery agency emailed saying they're no longer working on behalf of Octopus and it has nothing to do with them.
Replied along the lines of 'you don't wriggle out of doing zero due diligence and harassing people with no evidence that easily pal'

Octopus emailed saying they have no record of being told to close the account so I told them they could add that to my complaint as I have the entire written exchange to hand.
They offered to generously resolve the situation by writing off the outstanding bills.
Replied along the lines of 'they ain't my outstanding bills so you can stick it up your a*se mate'

Off out shortly to buy family friend some beers to thank her for giving us the coins I sold. She wants me to be co-executor of her will (hopefully not for a long time) so we'll also be discussing that. So much adulting going on, I don't like it 😁

Got back in to a very aggressive email from Octopus saying how they were doing me a huge favour offering to write off not-my-debt and that everything is my fault. They keep mentioning that they have no record of being told to close the account, like that somehow makes them look better not worse, when I have the whole official exchange from the time and have repeatedly reminded them of this. Absolutely dreadful company, they will never be getting mine or my family's business in future

And now got a message saying my vinted sale is suspended as the zip is broken. She has posted pics of the top of the zip not present. I know full well the zip was intact and working. She has broken her own zip in the hope of a vinted freebie 😭  I give up trying to better myself or fight against the powers that be. Absolutely pointless as apparently everyone is either a d*ckhead or deranged.

Some people are just awful. They want something for nothing.
