Cheers @doingitanyway, a good night's sleep makes the difference between a good day and a shoddy one for us all at any time doesn't it, and even more so when painful periods time it perfectly for starting new jobs, bloody typical, literally πŸ˜‚

Think we all deserve several biscuits @Watty1, biscuity cheers 🍻

Build update is clay pipe still a mystery and builder is insisting its necessary we pay over 200 quid to a chap with cameras to investigate it, though builder has also unexpectedly decided they'll have completed three build phases by this weekend and we need to pay him 25k within a week πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜
Broker has said lender will be including a land valuation but we don't know if this will be in time for us to get the land valuation that land registry needs that we need for the lender to lend. Confused? Us too!Β
We have activated accepting mortgage offer and will be instructing solicitors in next few days, though had to upload selfie for mortgage ID check and if they say no on the grounds that I blatantly look like a convict, I frankly will not be able to objectΒ

Good luck with the invigilator role. I may have mentioned I did this a couple of years ago and like you was assigned a pupil on a 1:1 basis which was fine until the final day when I was unceremoniously dragged into the Principal’s office for letting him have my mobile number to let me know his results. Perhaps I should have known better but I had spent 5 weeks and many hours in a tiny room with him so we’d built up a healthy rapport.

I’m afraid I felt so embarrassed and to be honest really let down so I resigned on the spot - their loss in my opinion!

Oh that's a shame @Sallyforth, I can understand why you felt embarrassed and let down and resigned. If they hadn't provided you with a policy advising against that then why would you not innocently feel that a kid couldn't share the results of their hard work you supported them through.
Obviously safeguarding etc is incredibly important but what a sad state of affairs and how saddening that there are so many dodgy people out there that the good people of the village can no longer raise the children, to mangle a phrase!

    Up early of course!

    Survey
    Admin
    Tidying
    Comping

    Receipt survey
Pip money and survey money to usual pots
    Build admin

Half an hour walk getting hand sanitisers from olio

Debt recovery agency letter offering me a discount on not-my-debt and threatening someone coming round my home to "discuss why I'm not paying it" if I don't accept it, sent extremely unimpressed response

15 minute walk getting free paper and dropping it to mums, and entered some competitions by post

Chased octopus about not-my-debt with even more extremely unimpressed email

Entered some competitions, today I'm mostly looking forward to winning lots of money please please please

Went behind my own back and booked an opticians appointment as I didn't want to πŸ˜‚

    Vinted listing

45 minute walk attending said appointment, had a laugh with the optician as my address was put in as a neighbours' and they have a very, ahem, interesting business name, the things you accidentally learn!

Took some old coins to the bank, got Β£3.14, it all adds up

Had put far more money aside than opticians cost, begrudgingly sent the bulk back to Pip dental pot from whence it came but kept a wee bit aside to tidy other pots and buy a couple of pints

    Bought a couple of pints

    Happy Friday everybody 🍻

My body very much isn't @Blackcats but I'm enjoying the aspects of being able to support young people, especially those with additional needs, and feeling useful to colleagues.
And money! Only taking home about seven quid an hour but frankly it's a better rate than my freelance work is averaging now what with chatgpt. Feel quite shamed by this, how quickly societal norms change and leave people behind.
Although I now have to remember to be vaguely respectable in the street in case 'my' students see or hear me, which is challenging πŸ˜‚

I'm going to publicly declare that this weekend I will put the skirt thing back on my bed base. I've completely forgotten what it's called! But anyway I washed it about 6 weeks ago and it's been on the shelf by my bed waiting since. Absolutely no need for it to have not been put back on! It's really annoying me now.
