Thanks @Sun_Addict. Got to wait till tomorrow to watch it on catch up with Mr PIP...
Hoping to add another book to my 'books read' tally but I'm enjoying my main two too much to want to finish them

Hugs to you @foxgloves. Just having a really missing everyone sort of day. There's been so much death in the last few years it's bound to catch up with me every now and then, and like your friend, the people have all gone before their fair time, which leaves absences that echo particularly reverberatingly.
If anyone keeps putting off sending that message or going for that pint etc, put that right this weekend. I so wish I was in a pub doing the crossword with me old mate.

Cheers @redofromstart 🥂 (Why is there not a red wine cheers emoji?!)
Hope you have a cosy and relaxing evening. I'm missing the cats, try to enjoy the unique qualities of evil cat 😁

Ha thanks @KajiKita, though I meant a two glasses cheersing one but I appreciate the emoji thought, though I'm not sure it counts from someone who doesn't drink 😂 Glad you're feeling a bit better btw, I'm really paranoid about getting ill this month considering how badly ill I was last year, and the news stories about hospitals currently being overwhelmed with norovirus are not encouraging!

It does look lush @LadyWithAPlan, hoping as ever with these things that it doesn't actually make any noticeable difference as amazing posh products are not in the budget plan!

Unless you win those posh products!!! Then they are in budget )

Well, if you are not 'feeling the love' today, PiP, I think I concur that wine & reading is the better choice for this evening. I am certainly intending to read after I've signed out of here. It is sad thinking of those close to us whom we have lost. Most of the time, I think more of the positives, the stuff we did together, the laughs, having had the privilege of knowing people, but I have been thinking recently about my lovely friend who died very suddenly (same age as me) - partly because I can't believe that next month, it will be 8 years since I saw her, & partly because I'd always thought we'd kind of grow old together, that she'd come to stay when (if!) Mr F & I manage to move to the coast, etc. It's odd how losses suddenly strike one, isn't it? I am still tinged with sadness on marmalade making day because I always remember how much my Dad looked forward to receiving new supplies for his toast & I see things in shops which would have made such a fab little gift for Mum. It's only human to think wistfully about those people who are no longer with us though. Most days, it doesn't cross my mind at all, then the daftest little thing will crop up & seem particularly poignant.

Sorry for your losses F and PIP.    This is very wise and the memories coming at certain times of the year are always poignant,  can be a little terrible and often beautiful..

I was being driven along an American freeway 10 days ago by a friend  listening to a song on the  car stereo and we were  deciding the next tune  ...and had a flashback of a  one month road trip I had done with my then partner 20 years ago  - who has been dead   a decade  now -  where I when not driving  I had been the dj/tune selcta
. 'Keane' went down very well on the open roads I remember.
. I have mourned him  but I was  still a little sad but also remembered  what a great trip it was. California, Nevada..
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

It is certainly surprising what people will buy, PiP. I once sold 2 empty perfume bottles on the Bay of E. Couldn't believe it! Listed them because they were Vivienne Westwood, so had the trademark orb lids & both sold! It all adds up when debt-busting (as we were at the time) or saving.
No bad vibes here. Soot is sitting on my lap purring his ears off & I feel ready for the new week.

It’s so true the old adage “watch the pennies and they’ll turn into pounds”. Thankfully our debt busting years are well behind us now but old habits die hard. I simply can’t help watching the pennies now and believe me over the year they add up.  Another rather sad but true phrase is “money makes money” …

  • Aw give Soot (and Ash) a big indulgent behind the ear scritch from me @foxgloves. I don't think I've had so much as a sample of Vivienne Westwood perfume in all my days, please don't inform me that it's wonderful! (Is it wonderful? 😁)
I have previously put empty perfume bottles on there but no takers, maybe I should try as a bundle

While I think of it, if anyone has knowledge about selling Thierry Mugler/Angel perfume accessories (like limited edition bottle holder, pin badge) please let me know as I have some in great condition from the 90s, which apparently is now very in what with being vintage 🙄

  • That's so nice of you to say @Sallyforth, thank you.
Very much agree on both money counts!

Your profile pic is wonderful btw
