Ppincher - how are the chooks? any pics or have I missed them??
The chooks arent doing too good actually as they are being observed/stalked by a very crafty fox ATM. We have friends who have offered to re-home them for us so we can still see them and are weighing up whether it would be safer to do so. Its a shame but the stupid woman next door keeps feeding the foxes!
Feeling very bored ATM. Hoping to watch a film after lunch.
DW is on and OH has just swept through and cleaned the toilet.

Hi All! :santa2: I'm so glad they let you out PP, and hugs to TillyTrippit and to anyone not feeling well.
Have been out singing all morning practising for tonight's carol concert. It was SO cold in the little church, it's only opened once or twice a year so has no heating at all, it was warmer outside than in! We took supplies of hot chocolate and hot water bottles and STILL my feet were blocks of ice. Oh well. I shall find several pairs of thick socks to wear tonight (very glam).
Singing all the Christmas music has really put me in the mood now, and as OH heard yesterday that he will still have a job for the next few months at least, I can settle down and enjoy myself over the next couple of days. A bit worried about how long it's going to take me to pick up my turkey from the supermarket on Monday though; I thought I'd get there three quarters of an hour before it opened but all your tales of how horrible the queues are already are making me worry.... Oh well there's always egg and chips if we get there too late...
Have a great Saturday everyone, I shall have to record Strictly later on and watch it tomorrow so I won't be online until I know who wins otherwise I might inadvertently find out from reading the message boards :rotfl: I want Alesha to win....

Afternoon all
Happy Birthday to Mrs M, glad you're out PP.
I'm feeling good againg today, so the break from the lodger is doing me good, I forgot to say yesterday, I'd cleaned all the kitchen up after her cake baking session & when I got up yesterday morning she'd had another baking session & I had to do it all over again.
I had a few tears yesterday when I found out that the EX has invited some elderly relatives over this weekend & next, which means I won't see my kids over Christmas. The kids feel obliged to go & see their rellies & I agree, but I know it's only done out of spite as he doesn't see the oldies any other time.
Still on the bright side, I've cleared the lodgers room & found about 6 large towels, my hairdryer, my CD player & hubbys camera. Dstepson & his GF are coming over from Ireland for a couple of days, I've made a fleece for her & shortbread for him.
I best get on, got loads more tidying to do.
Hugs Hester

Hello everyone!
Had a very hectic week so have not been on. Have had parties, Guides, school and courses, along with a play about a drag queen to watch. Am back now though.
Today is a lazy one for me. I'm getting the washing and dishwashing done, then we only need one more dishwasher load done before Christmas after today as we are hoping to go up to Kent to stay with my folks on Christmas Eve. I'm debating making a gingerbread house to take on Christmas Day-I don't have jelly sweets or anything, but loads of chocolate etc from the kids at Guides and school, so I can use those and coloured icing.
I might spend the whole day in my pjs as they are so snuggly, and it's already past 2pm so most of the day has gone by... perhaps. Not sure what time OH will be getting in from work, he got in shortly before me yesterday. Sainsburys wasn't busy when I went to swap something, but stupid me didn't take advantage. And now I'm craving satsumas. I'm not making OH brave Tesco or Waitrose, and our local grocers has shocking prices, so I'll just have to deal with it! I have frozen fruit in the freezer (shocking) so I can make a smoothie to curb my fruit craving, or eat a banana.
Hope you all have a good day, hope those feeling poorly or down feel better soon x

Hi all!:hello:
Just popped in quickly to tell you....
WE HAVE A GRANDDAUGHTER!:j :j :j :j :j
Her name is Aimee Charlotte and she was born at 6.42 this morning, weighing 7lb 13oz. DD had been having contractions for 24 hours but they weren't very strong, so she didn't go to hospital until 6.15 after her waters broke. Her best friend and I were at DD's house looking after DGS, and she had a txt from DD's DH to say DD had been examined and was only 3 cm so it looked like being a long job. Less than fifteen minutes later he rang to say she'd had a little girl - we thought he was winding us up, but no! They were convinced they were having another boy, so could hardly believe their eyes when Aimee popped out! He sent us a photo from his mobile phone, and she doesn't look at all like her big brother (16 months old) who will no doubt be quite unimpressed to have a sister. We won't be able to see her for a couple of days as DH has a chest infection, but can't be helped.
I'm going to try to have a sleep now, as not surprisingly I didn't get much last night! (Sleep, I mean, Haribo!)
Love to everyone,
