O/S Daily Thread for Saturday 22nd Dec

I've not posted on the daily thread for what seems like eons (probably has been eons!).
But, I'm up and the rest of the household is asleep and for once I've managed to sit down and read the DT :T.
Sounds like everyone out there is busy and/or ill
I hope everyone feels a whole lot better soon.
Christmas is pretty much organised here in our house. Presents to wrap and sprouts to buy, but that's about it really!
On the OS side of things, I've managed to make enough bread and freeze it to keep us going over the "festive period", although I may just knock up a couple more loaves tomorrow, we shall see.
Today is a day for visiting rellies and stocking up with cheese.
Tomorrow, I shall be doing a whole load of prep cooking for Christmas Eve / Day, things like the braised red cabbage, mince pies, mustard mash etc., etc., which also reminds me I must go and look up a recipe for microwaveable play dough, I'm sure I saw one on here a while ago. As that is my final pressie to make, LOL!
Right, time for coffee and a shower, in that order methinks!!
Then it's porridge for brekkie all around, something to fill the boots!!!
Have a good day and I'll try to drop by a bit more regularly, my life has just been too hectic.:rudolf:GC - March 2024 -0 -
Morning everyone :hello:
Happy birthday to Mrs Macawber! :bdaycake:
(((hugs))) to Tilly
Amie - leave it for a few weeks and then you'll be safe to go back to the shop!
Take the (((((hugs))))) and :j :j from me.
DH has just been (and come back from) the barbers. There's not much hair to cut, so I'm surprised that it took so long............. but apparently there was a queue. - yes, at 7am in the morning!!!!
I was such a doughnut yesterday. I went to take a Christmas card to a friend who lives a couple of roads away. In my hand, I also had a letter to be posted (can you see where this is going yet??). Needless to say, there is now a Christmas card in a post box with no address on it...... :wall: :wall:
Today we're visiting friends who have just (2 weeks ago) had their second child. I bought a gorgeous blanket for him yesterday, which is handmade by a local lady. It really is lovely - and no two are the same. I hope that they like it.
Lunchtime we're meeting up with friends at a pub close-ish to them, but I haven't seen them for a while.
Anyway, I'd better go and get ready for the day ahead.

Saxy1, I’m so sorry
PP I’m so glad you’re home, if I read a post from you saying you’ve cleaned your toilet this morning, you’re in BIG trouble
I didn’t get my ‘me’ evening, master tru was hungover and he parked himself on the sofa  I parked myself on the other one and we watched 2 episodes of CSI Miami.
I can’t ignore the ironing pile any longer, I’ll pick out 10 items and iron those, the rest can waitBulletproof0 -
Hello everyone,
Take it easy Penpin and MrsMix, you want to be feeling better for Christmas.
Hugs Tilly, I lost my mum at Christmas and it's taken us a long time to get into the swing of Christmas again. I hope that you and Sam the dog like each other.
DH went to Tesco's for prawns an hour ago, and it's only down the road. Goodness only knows what he is doing! I have a friend to visit this morning, and then this afternoon I am hoping to do the ironing and the last of my present wrapping.
Take care all of you.0 -

Plans for today, dh going to pick step son up at 9.30am then im off to tackle Tescos, im ment to be going out at 5pm for a drink with my friend from preston who is over for the evening, and as much as i would love to see her i have so much to do, but i will have to make the effort and go out for a few hours or she will just get upset as iv let her down loads this year when she has bben over, its hard because none of this bunch of mates have kids and i dont think the understand when i say i cant go!!!

Good Morning All
(((Hugs))) to all those feeling under the weather - hope you are all feeling better by Tuesday. I have been taking echinacea this year and so far so good.
Tilly - good luck with Sam, my sis just took on a rescue dog and she is lovely.
Been up for an hour but dont know where that time has gone. Need to reset all the electric clocks as we must have had a power cut in the night. Had to clean up in the front room as the dog knocked over a vase of flowers.
First job I need to do is phone my bank, cheques I paid in wednesday arnt showing on my account - am not a happy bunny.
Then will be clearing washing and ironing baskets and doing housework. DS has a party this afternoon and after have droppped him off will be going to buy a new toilet seat and hopefully a mirror for our hallway. Havnt got to go right into town just the outskirts but it will probably be made anyway.
Am seriously looking forward to SCD tonight also - will really miss it when its finished.
Best get on, have a great day.

((HUGS)) to anyone ive missed/cross posted with or who is feeling poorly!! xx
Well, the BM is on already, need to make bread rolls for lunch, and the WM is on with my bedding - will need to do another load after with the childrens school uniforms, then they can be put away for another 2 weeks - i love the school holidays!!
DS has his last football match today before christmas, they are playing the team below us, and the two teams ahead of us are playing each other, so if results go our way, we might be able to get into second in the league (the team at the top are brillient, half their team are in the youth set up for Plymouth Argyle, and when we played them, you can see why!!! Its looking very grey out, but hopefully the rain will stay off so we wont get wet.
Have one christmas present left to give out, so might pop them round to my friends before DSs match - then apart from the milk and cream (and i still dont know whether to get that today or tomorrow) we are ready!!!
Right, off to get my clicks done - hope everyone has a lovely day,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -

Morning Guys!
Only just got out of bed:o....I feel shattered!
DD has had a shower, OH is making a cuppa and Im on sofa with quilt and pillows. We are just having a lazy day today in front of the TV. The food shopping is due between 6-8pm and am hoping/praying that they have the main items I ordered. I bought a lot of store cupboard items and butter/milk as it was on special. Have also ordered loads of treats that we dont normally have other times of years. After vouchers and special offers it should be about £65 but order was just over £100.
We are supposed to be having friends over tomorrow evening and was doing a roast, but I still want them to come over but will do a lasagna (or supervise OH/DD) salad and garlic bread instead as its much easier and could do the lasagna in the morning so its all done and dusted. Have ordered a lovely Banoffie (sp) pie for desert as they had their finest 2 for £5 and they are delish.
We were debating to go away next week as planned and we have decided to go for it. I think the break will do us good and there is a hospital 2 miles away. The lady who owns the bungalow is great and has asked if there is anything else we need...just ask:D ...she already provides butter, FR eggs, milk, bread, cheddar, loo rolls, etc and she always makes sure there is washing powder and salt pepper etc. She even asked if we wanted some Guiness:rotfl: shame I cant drink or I would be throwing down me:D We call it our second home as we love it and her prices are great. Hoping to go back again through the 6 weeks holidays for £220 for 8 nights;) ...cheapest caravan we can find is £450 for a very basic one. Anyway, we love Norfolk!
As you can tell I feel alot happier today:j :j :j :j
HariboJunkie-Hope you are ok and wont be away from us for long.
Hugs to all.

Not sure what we are up to today, might go for a walk, need to drop one card off, pizza and garlic bread for tea.
