That's odd Penny Pincher as I was lurking at 7.20am (your time) and your light was on.
Good morning everyone,
MrsMc Happy Birthday
Another scorcher here. I cooked a chook today and the turkey roll. We eat ours cold or heat a little in the oven. Made some eggplant relish as well. Tomorrow will be busy in the kitchen as well. I also need to wash & iron. DGS & XDIL came to visit this arv. I've pretty got everything under control.
Tilly Sorry to hear your sad news. I hope the dog falls in love with you and please post us any photo's if he does.
Haribo You must have a very big mouth to fit pigs in blanket in there. What will Pen Pen say.
Churchmouse Obviously you've had a bit to much cherry cheer. Are you reading. Over and out.
Well think I'll go and have a shower and see what's on the box. ByeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Morning everyone:santa2:
We had a rough nite as DD was up being sick! hope its just cos she's eaten too much sweets etc and not got a sicky bug coming!
I thought I was finished with the shops but I bought a new sports bra yesterday from M&S and it doesnt feel right so I have to take it back and try on some others. I didnt try it on, because a few days ago I go measured at another branch but they didnt have any stock, so I just picked up one at another branch, serves me right I should have tried it on to be sure.
Looking forward to Strictly tonite too, I love Matt when he did that samba - but Alesha has been the most consistant so I think she deserves it, but I bet all the girlies vote for matt.
Sorry your sofa didnt turn up Mrsmix!
Penpenguin - enjoy your party!
Ppincher - how are the chooks? any pics or have I missed them??
ivyleaf -
tilly - sorry for your loss x
MrsMCawber - Happy Birthday!!!

Hello all,
Haven't read the thread yet. Feel like !!!!!! this morning. Everything got completely on top of me and got a raging headache. We were supposed to be going shopping in the middle of the night and when I said I didn't want to go cause I didn't feel up to it. OH got a real paddy on. So, I went to bed in tears (from pain and from him) and feel subsequently awful this morning.
Anyway, we have guests tonight, don't know what time or what the hell I'm cooking them, if they're staying or anything. Got to get shopping, cook the dinner, tody the house etc.
What a fun day.
Have a good one :beer:We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
good wishes to all who are poorly or sad.
been to Asda. spent £133  to be fair this was my big monthly shop too....soap powder, loo rolls, dog food etc and it included my mum's shopping too, but it didnt half give me palpitations when I saw the total. And I've not got the turkey yet!
was there at 7am and when I was leaving they were queuing to get in to carpark. why do folks go mad. shops are only shut a day or two at the most.
off to mum's in a minute. got her shopping to deliver and I'm taking all the stuff for christmas through to keep in her fridge. then I'll buy the turkey and cook it christmas morning here, before we go to her's christmas day.
one more christmas present has arrived, leaving two outstanding. hopefully will be here on monday, but I'm not too worried. were little things for son and he's a big boy now! his main things are here.x x x0 -
Morning everyone.
Exmil decided that it would be a very good idea for dd to have a new bed for xmas and that it should arrive today. They called a couple of days ago to fix delivery so I called her and told her that Argos had rung and that ...... "oh no" says she (picture hyacinth here) "I bought that bed from homebase ... argos indeed the very idea." Anyway it's here and the lovely ARGOS men have left a delivery note which I shall give to exoh to show that it did ndeed come from argos no matter where she bloomin' ordered it - hope she paid extra - Petty! Moi!
Anyhoo so here it is cluttering up the hall but at least I don't have to stay in all day now - even though I ought to really. Plans for today are to check I have everything for dinner, PANIC, wrap dd11's pressies( i am paying her to wrap the rest hee hee), PANIC, tidy, PANIC, make up guest beds even though the guests have yet to tell me if they are staying overnight or not and soem more PANICKING. Oh and knitting some bloomin' socks
have a good dayI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
:xmassign:I've been "out of the loop" for awhile and hope to be back after the holidays, but just wanted to wish all of the OS'ers a very Happy Christmas and best wishes for the New Year.
Thanks for all the tips, tricks, ideas and strategies you've all given me and for making me feel so at home on the OS board! See you next year!

HI - just taking a break. BM has just finished with dough for rolls, two loads done in the WM which will be TD'd I'm afraid, just to get it out of the way. I have cleaned the oven, DH has replaced the broken loo seat and changed the sheets - he will be dusting and hoovering later but has just gone to the bank to pay in a cheque and to the filling station to fill my car (yay!). I have put the ironing board up and ironed a couple of things but, because I'm not feeling that good, DH said he will take over when he gets back. I feel like I did when I was just getting over the last cold so I hope I'm back to normal on Tuesday. I still can't believe I found the energy to clean the cooker - now, the sink is a mess and needs cleaning; it just goes on and on, doesn't it? I still have to prep the veg for dinner for today and tomorrow, wrap some more pressies and get the tray ready for Mum's room - it's a long way down to our kitchen in the mornings and I know she'll appreciate being able to make a cuppa when she wakes up. She always puts out a tea tray for us when we stay with her, so I know it's important to her.
Well, I'm glad that real freeze has gone - I'm shivering like mad today so I don't know how I'd have coped if it was still as cold as it was during the week.
I'm going to try and make my Christmas stuffing today because that will keep in the fridge - every time I tick something off my list, I add something else to it! I'm so glad I don't have to do any big food shopping - going to the Co-op was a doddle yesterday compared to what I'm hearing about Tesco and Sainsbury's! I just could not face that!
Anyway, I've sat here for long enough and the BM has just beeped so I knead (!) to beat the dough up!
Have a great day, everyone, and I hope you are all managing to get things done without panicking!
(((hugs))) to all in need. Will call back later.
