It's been over 3 weeks since I started trying to transfer from Skipton and still no success. After two weeks I got a letter in the post saying the details didn't match so I tried resubmitting the online transfer request form with my account number as the reference and an account number and sort code I find on Skipton's website for ISA transfers. Heard nothing since. I guess it'll time out and the new account will close?
I transferred from Skipton and contacted on line chat for details....
    sort code - 207891
    account no, - 70798924
Roll number - YOUR Skipton ISA account number

My first transfer didn't go through as I missed out some of the numbers, but 2 others went through within days..

It's frustrating because they have taken so long to notify you. I have never officially heard that my first transfer failed...it just didn't happen.

The online Nat West transfer form I used only had sort code and account no/roll number options ie one or the other so I used the sort code above and the Skipton ISA account number.

Does anyone know if we can fund the Nat West isa after the 1st Sept?
If you want to be rich, never, ever have kids ;)
  • According to the bottom of this page,
Fixed Rate ISA | ISA Rates | NatWest
     the key dates are

Closing date to open your account - Existing Customer  - 14 August 2023
Closing date to open your account - New Customer        - 09 August 2023
Last date for receipt by us of external ISA transfer requests   - 14 August 2023
Last date for receipt by us of NatWest internal ISA transfer requests - 28 August 2023
Last date to make payments or withdrawals - 01 September 2023
    Start Date - 04 September 2023

Going by p00hsticks info it doesn't look like it.
I tried phoning NatWest the other day and it was impossible to get through.
    On line chat is pointless.

FWIW I was told by CS that 1st Sept is the cutoff for new money but as long as transfer requests were made by the 14th August they can still transfer in at any time.  The lady I spoke to sounded like she knew her stuff and sited an example of S&S ISA transfers often taking a lot longer to transfer.

That said I have not been impressed with Natwest, so it could all be BS.

Got a letter today saying they won't be doing my transfer as it's past the deadline and the account will be closed. I've been trying to get it working since the beginning of August. Oh well. Anywhere else I can move my money to instead?

I fear mine may end up the same way! I tried to transfer 2 previous ISAs across at the beginning of August. One from HSBC went through in a matter of days, the other from Virgin Money (but old Yorkshire Bank account) first got rejected and every time I call NatWest to ask about how the re-submission is going, they say no further rejection but still nothing moving from VM and VM have not received a transfer request🙁 I suspect that is because the re-submission hasn’t happened, though.

As the HSBC ISA only had £450 in it, I fear NatWest might close the new ISA after tomorrow as it won’t meet the minimum £1000 threshold.

I saw another thread saying that Virgin Money accounts like mine should specify Yorkshire Bank on the transfer form and not Virgin Money. Wish I’d seen that earlier but too late now🙁

Me too. I applied in plenty of time, moving from a Yorkshire BS cash ISA. However I used sort code and a/c no., instead of the roll number, my mistake.
Natwest could have sent me a secure message on the app and it could have been easily fixed. But no, they sent me a letter and a manual transfer form to complete, with a 2nd class freepost envelope! Even 1st class would have missed the deadline though, but I thought they might let me off as I did start the process sooner.

Maybe Charter fixed for a year at 5.77%, not bad.
  • I'm trying to transfer funds and it's not letting me add anything to my ISA despite tomorrow being the deadline day and the start date not happening until 4th Sept. I just get "transfers not allowed" or similar when I try. Do I need to maybe do it as a payment to the account rather than a transfer from another natwest account?
  • Ah hold on, it appears I have to make a payment for it to work rather than a transfer. Well that's clear as mud.

Doesn't look hopeful for me then, I'm still waiting on my transfer to the 5.9% RBS to happen. Same as you with a YBS ISA. I put the 8 digit no first which got rejected, sent back the manual transfer form in the 2nd class envelope with the 10 digit no and still waiting to hear anything.

Me too exactly the same, transfer from a YBS ISA Submitted the transfer request online, received a letter to say it got rejected, I gave only 8 digit account number. I posted back the form on 23 August and still heard nothing and my ISA still has a £0 balance.
Tried to call Natwest and after 1 hour wait, I gave up!
