Ethel austin just has an 'old lady' sounding name. The clothes are sometimes nice you have to search around for the best stuff, but I have had complements followed by surprise and disbelief when i say 'its from Ethel austin'
Our local has good makeup bargains like maybelline foundations for about £2, expensive sun and self tan lotions at very good discounts, you need to look really whenever you are passing, as what they have in changes. working on makeup counters I know that what they sell is often 'last season' or discontinued. Often companies just change the packaging and the product remains the same. A bonus of the stuff in Ethel Austin is a lot of it is wrapped so you can easily tell if anyone has fiddled about with it. I have seen revlon products in ours too. go for it, ignore the old lady name, it is quiet a handy shop for several bargains!Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

I was on a new mascara hunt this weekend and was surprised at the result. For info I have quite long lashes so I don't go for lengthening ones, mostly defining. I've tried everything from MAC/Benefit to Maybelline and they have all clumped and flaked.
Enter Collection 2000 who i've always stayed away from as growing up I always saw it as cheap rubbish. They have quite a collection of mascaras but I went for the waterproof one at 1.99 I think it was, no clumping or flaking and my lashes look amazing.
We have an Ethel Austin near me so will check it out for any good finds.0 -
hi guys,
have any of you tried the new clinique almost powder make up?
i heard an advert for it on the radio this morning and it sounded just like what i needed.
also i have just discovered the joy of bourjois single eyeshadow pots - they are soo pretty!!0 -
Has anybody managed to find the Aldi version of Touche Eclat recently? I was inspired by this thread to go searching for it, and my local Aldi had no sign that it was or should have been in stock.
The Double Wear foundation sounds great - I'm off to get a sample at lunchtime from the House of Fraser near work (and am skint this month, so if I like it I'll be doing a run of all the Estee Lauder counters on Oxford Street at the weekend for more samples)
While I'm at it, is the Double Wear concealer any good?Operation Get in Shape

Double wear light? I got my samples Saturday and I didnt like
Guess my skin is just getting too old for foundation and powder because not only did I really have to really work on the blending out of me creases, but it left me with a "cracking glaze" look within a couple of hours
Mind using the tiny amount I did I did get pretty good coverage over my red bits and it appears to have staying power0 -
The shop at Bicester is a Cosmetic Company Outlets. There is also one at Cheshire Oaks and a couple of others dotted about the country. They sell products from the Estee Lauder companies - Bobbi Brown, Clinique, Mac, Origins etc. The products roughly sell for 1/3 off normal price. They often stock limited edition colours or travel packs that they can't sell anymore in the shops.0

I'm an AVON junkie. Their makeup is fantastic at decent prices.
The only thing I've never found to suit me is a foundation!
However, avon mineral makeup is great!
