The absence of 'latest posts' is one

To get 'new posts' from across the forum, you have to hit 'latest threads' then change the filter from 'recently created' to 'recently commented'.

Thanks, turned off, refreshed and then turned on again.

I've got to meet a client at 10am (luckily one located in an office at the end of the road I live on), so I'll get dressed, go to the meeting and have a play at some point this afternoon.

On the latest threads section please can revert back to the numbered boxes for posts 1, 2, 3 etc rather than 1-10, 11-20 etc as it makes it very hard to scroll back to page 1. You have retained the numbered boxes for individual threads so not sure why you haven't for the latest threads section. Thanks
    Hi @uss_tish

Don't know if you've noticed. If you click the arrow at the end, it will open up a box where you can navigate to any page you want -

Thanks. I looked at that arrow, and avoided it, as it looked like one that would take me to the oldest thread/last page.

But I also don't get those back and forward arrows.

I like to start at page 30 of the new threads, and work backwards, as otherwise you read posts on p1, go to p2, and all the p1 posts are now moved to p2 (when the forum is busy).

Can we have a "previous page" button too please.

The Ublock filters have been posted on here a number of times and no one has been reprimanded.
FYI your comment is incorrect ... I have been messaged previously (by forum team, not long after the last forum theme was introduced) about it, so that's at least one person. :)

I don't expect everybody to agree on my personal opinion, but I find the above far easier on the eyes.
    Much better for me.
I would put everything to the right on the top line. Would also remove the thumbs up  as to me it's just unneeded clutter.
Agree - scrap the thumbs up, and the badges and Forumite etc

  • Mainly positive opinions despite old age and a deep aversion to change.

But it would be most helpful if the oval (NEW) blobby on threads also changed colour, contrast, or something when it becomes (n NEW) for a previously visited thread - to make it stand out.

I visit MS Forums daily, just a quick browse for threads I'm interested in normally. If the (NEW)/(x NEW) blobs were the first item on the line and maintained vertical alignment fine, they'd be easy to spot, but as things are the eyes have to dart left and right searching for them when scanning down the threads list. It's slower, more mentally taxing and gives low confidence that you didn't miss the one you're particularly interested in^^.

Congrats: At least the page isn't wall-to-wall white like many “modernised” minimal-clutter page designs. Those are as relaxing as driving down a winding country road in a blizzard white-out!

(^^ Yeah, I know, Bookmarks and Follow and stuff, but I'm talking flying visit near-zero-scrolling-and-clicking.)

(PC, Win10, Firefox @ 90%scale view. No phone or Tablet))

Ditto, and what on earth is 'name dropper'?
