Any idea (has it been stated) if this is site wide affecting everyone or specific forums/threads and/or just some members ?1 -
I know it's been mentioned a few times in reference these drop downs - can they be made click to drop rather than roll over? And only have them as wide as needed - not the whole screen? Definitely a source of annoyance rather than help. Is that a possibility?10 -
With all the links/pictures/buttons/click this/click that options we have - there's no button or link to simply see 'Latest posts' that I can find anywhere. I previously would click this and then scan through to see what interested me.
We do have a 'latest threads' link - but that gives you the newly created threads, and ignores any recent existing threads with new posts.
To get 'new posts' from across the forum, you have to hit 'latest threads' then change the filter from 'recently created' to 'recently commented'.
Is there a way to either get a button/link/pretty picture that just gives 'latest posts' or to be able to choose the default as to whether you get 'recently created' or 'recently commented' depending on your preference?9 -

Initially I thought it was just fat finger syndrome and I was hitting the wrong link - but I carefully tried it systematically last night and it doesn't matter which of the links in the drop down I tap, I end up on the forum home page. I can't use that top menu to get to my bookmarks or 'Followed Content' - which are my usual starting pages.
And, for what it's worth, I don't like the posting window having the blue background, it feels like I'm typing within a quote, having been white previously. I have another comment about line spacing, I'll post that in a moment when I've done some screengrabs.1 -

It's probably that I've changed something but can't see what in the settings if this is the case, everything is still set to 'on'.
I've ignored the facility ever since then, except to notice occasionally the number on the bell logo was reaching numbers like 1800 or 2300. And that's when I'm not as active here as I used to be.
But I can look now: it's 15, having been 18 a couple of days ago, so I can see why some folk are suggesting it isn't doing anything.
Edit: one possible reason for so any notifications is apparently I have 6495 bookmarked threads. I have absolutely no idea how this happened; I'm unaware of ever having selected even one. So maybe some of the issues here have lasted for some time, some settings turned on by default without being explained or opted for0 -
This is to illustrate something that doesn't sit that well with me, the inconsistency in text size and line spacing. This is the posting window, then the Preview of the post and then the post itself. They all differ and the one I personally like best, is the Preview - the text is fractionally smaller and the line spacing a bit wider, feels more comfortable on the eye - once posted, the text size appears to be a bit larger, but the lines are closer together.

Thanks for all the improvements. It is far better now. My simple use of the forum is back to normal now. One real bug bear, like many others, is the drop down menu that opens when cursor just goes over it. Annoying. Please, please, please make it click to get3

On the latest threads section please can revert back to the numbered boxes for posts 1, 2, 3 etc rather than 1-10, 11-20 etc as it makes it very hard to scroll back to page 1. You have retained the numbered boxes for individual threads so not sure why you haven't for the latest threads section. Thanks0

Don't know if you've noticed. If you click the arrow at the end, it will open up a box where you can navigate to any page you want -

My work intranet site also has these headings at the top that expand into menus when you move the mouse over them. The important difference is that they only do it when you pause the mouse. If you could just tweak that so they don't come flying open at the briefest touch, that would be good.
I noted in the update that you found hardly anyone one used the full list of sites, so you decided to replace it with a selection of the most interesting bits, like a newspaper. I don't think this is a long-term solution to having a diverse and lively range of discussions.1
