  • Interesting data that the forum team must have that shows that the forum is least active between 2pm and 4pm as opposed to say 2am and 4am. I can't imagine any other reason why they would take the forum down in the middle of the day for an upgrade.
Probably because they're asleep between 2am and 4am? And by doing it at 2pm-4pm they're all in the office/at the end of a phone to resolve any issues that might crop up rather than it being off all night and then some more through the day while they fix whatever might have gone wrong? I don't think MSE is a 24/7 operation like the big name companies.

It's a shame they haven't bothered to come back on this thread to answer questions like that.

Not sure why they didn't lock the announcement, if they had no intentions to reply to questions or concerns.
Seems pretty pointless to have this thread if the only ones commenting on it are totally clueless about  the changes.

I think we all need to remember that this is a amazing site, which is free at point of use & has many many resources to help us on our money saving journey.

You can please some of the people, all of the time, and all of the people, all of the time, but you will never please all of the people, all of the time. John Lydgate, and Abe Lincoln knew stuff that is as true today as it ever was.

hopefully the upgrade will bring some benefits. This is a good site but the interface is miles behind some other forums I use.

I don't disagree with that @beanielou but the new format is due to be rolled out this afternoon, only announced last Friday and no one from mse has posted since despite 11 pages of comments. That's hardly good communication.🤔

They probably don't want to get involved in discussion about what it has or hasn't got, how it might or might not look, or whether it has or hasn't got certain features until it's landed on our plate - hopefully at that point once we've got it, there'll be a bit of healthy discussion (and maybe even a little positive feedback!) It's nearly time - so let's wait and see. No point complaining now :)
