Interestingly, I'm getting to the point with my pensions that I need to be careful of overpayment charges.

I have one more chunk of pension withdrawal money, but the maximum I can overpay until July is just over £6000.

I think it's time to look at mortgage offset accounts. Time to start researching!

Hi everyone, thanks for the supportive comments, they're really lovely.

I got a promotion at work, which is great of course, but just been really busy settling in.

I overpaid by £6200 so the mortgage is now at £44775.

I've maxed out the overpayments for now and I don't want to incur unnecessary fees. On 1st July I'll be able to pay £4400 without penalty, so I've set myself a side quest of saving that much by then. Can I do it? It will be fun to try!

(In case you're interested, I technically have two mortgages, the first I took out when I purchased my shared ownership flat, the second four years later when I staircased to 100% ownership. I include them both in my totals.)

It's been three years and my mortgage amount has gone down by nearly 50%. Feeling really positive.

I applied for a promotion to professor and I have my interview next week.

    I finished my yoga qualification!

Goals for next month are to get a £500 overpayment in, and to get headstands.
