    3. Have a think about how to change my life. I'm 55 next month and I just want a change. I want more free time, I want less stress and angst. I love my job but want to do it 4 days week or something. I don't know. The past couple of months have shown me that life is short.
I could have written this sentence myself - also 55 next month, obsessed with reviewing pension options, really want a 4 day week asap but wouldn’t be able to do that in my current job. Mortgage too high, not enough disposable income etc lol but definitely need to make a change. Will follow your thoughts with interest x

    Hey!

Mortgage now at £66,292. Overpaid by £300.

Recovery is going well, thank goodness. So grateful to my surgeon.

Also--got my cats back yesterday! When the first surgery failed back in September and I realised I was going to be out of commission for a long time, a colleague actually offered to foster them! Which was so kind of her. Finally got the girls back and getting loads of winter cuddles. Xxx

About last month's goals, I'm nearly finished with the long-shot job application. It's due 11th December and I just have a couple of bits left to do.

I might qualify as a yoga teacher in the new year. I'll think about it.

Also, I need to build up savings again. When I was unwell I paid out for Ubers, cat boarding (before they got fostered), more expensive groceries (delivered).  Gift hampers for the nursing staff. It all added up! So will focus on savings again.

    Overpaid by £8600!

    Mortgage now at £57,469.

I didn't rob a bank. The money is 25% tax-free withdrawal from one of my pensions, because I've turned 55. Happy birthday to me!
