Aw thanks. Yes those two make a house a home.

Thanks for the tip. Yes I do take a lot of Vitamin D, along with Floradix, along with stuffing myself with fruits and veg as much as possible. There's something extra about being outside though.

  •  Very impressed with your focus and self awareness. - your splits are great / think I’d be at least a foot of the ground nowadays / did you work at them daily ?
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Lol, thank you. The key to splits was doing one minute and then repeating another minute, on each side.

    Happy new year everyone!

Mortgage at £71793, emergency fund at £2441.

I didn't quite get my goal of £3000 in EF by the end of the year, but I'm getting there. Hopefully by March.

Also I'm on a course for a qualification that will get me a promotion at work, with a £10k raise. It'll take about a year but I'm on the first leg now, writing big coursework.

    Goals for January:
    1. Get my coursework submitted by end of Jan.
    2. Get some Pilates classes in
    3. See if I can get EF to £2700

    Good morning everyone,

So the mortgage is still limping along. £71508 now. Still a big improvement on last year and it's nice to see it shifting.

I've had a setback with the emergency fund since I needed to replace my bathroom sink! The porcelain cracked and I did a bodgy fix with silicone filler. Then when I researched online "how to fix a cracked porcelain sink" the resounding answer was "you don't, you replace it before it shatters and puts you in A&E". Lol. So had to dip into savings but honestly I'm just grateful to have the cash for it. Nice new sink in a matter of days.

But that means the EF is still stuck at £2500.  I'm hoping I can get it up to £3000 by Easter!

In terms of other goals, I got the coursework assessment for my course completed and submitted early 🙌

I attended three Pilates classes and a yoga class, two of which were free. That really helps me keep my own teaching fresh. I taught many extra Pilates classes too, covering for people on leave.

    Goals for Feb:
    1. Attend more yoga classes
    2. Try to claim for the replacement sink on my insurance
    3. See whether there's anything I could sell on ebay.

    Hi everyone.

    So mortgage at £71205.

Savings *still* not at £3000 yet. Currently £2480. I couldn't get insurance to cover new sink, water bill was £200, and road tax was £99.

A difficult month tbh, my close friend's daughter died, and I've spent about £200 on food for her and family, plus travelling to her.

Keeping to topic, update on goals from last month:

    1. I attended a few more yoga classes.
    2. I got a 78% on my assessment for the first module in my course. Second module is underway.
    3. I sold a speaker on ebay for £15 lol

    Goals for March:

    1. Help friend with memorial garden for her daughter
    2. Just keep plugging along
