I thought that this EV was particularly good value for money with a range of 347 miles! They even let me sit in it.My car was in for an expensive 45 minute service.0

Do you have to have a credit check as i don't always take a steady income (early retired and drawing down a DC pension as and when needed with a FS pension to come later) but have have a lot in savings.0

I would imagine it would depend on the finance provider.
I don't recall ever having to give details of income and expenditure on any car finance agreement I have entered into recently.
If you want to get a car on some sort of finance the only way you will find out is to talk to the dealers.
I am sure that they will be as helpful as they possibly can be.0 -
We are in the position of replacing an 06 plate Seat 2.0 FR (petrol) which I have loved from the first moment I saw it on the garage forecourt, mainly because it had an angular shape and it was red
. It has given me over 10 years of relatively trouble-free motoring and a lot of enjoyment. My other half had a series of 2-seater sports cars before children and dogs necessitated an estate car (diesel).
We were considering a hybrid, so the information here has been very helpful in discounting that option.
My problem is that I just don't enjoy driving automatic cars having been taught to drive by changing gears to the sound of the engine, and the thought that the car 'plans the journey' to me takes all the fun out of motoring! I grew up in the era of hot hatches, no sat nav, and have always had cars that I enjoy driving and being in (the growlier the engine, the better!). My best motoring adventures have come when we have got lost and discovered new places be accident. My brother-in-law has a Tesla, and is very evangelical about the benefits of his EV. I just hate it, it makes no noise and practically drives itself. For him, this is good as it has given him confidence to drive further than he has ever done before with less stress and worry. He has always found charging points and has no range anxiety. For me, it is boring and you might as well have a driverless car and use the journey to sleep. I remain to be fully convinced of the environmental benefits either until battery technology/recycling moves forward.
I expect we will get one more petrol car before being forced down the EV route, at least then I will be nearly 80, and if still alive, won't be doing the road trips that we do at the moment. Now to find a car that is not ugly to look at and is affordable (my dream of owning a Ford escort Mexico will have to remain a dream at today's prices)!0 -

The Tesla is an absolute missile and is as much fun as you want it to be. I have motorcycles and the Tesla is motorcycle quick.
For the money, there is nothing that comes close to the Tesla.
F1 cars are basically automatic as are most supercars.
You don't have to use the automation in a Tesla if you don't want to, you can just drive it wherever you want just like any other car.
But, I'm not posting to change your mind, we all like what we like. I just wanted to point out in a balanced way that there is no way a Tesla could be described as boring to drive, different maybe, but no car that fast is boring unless you choose it to be.
Good luck with the Escort, if I won the lottery it would be one of the first things I bought!
