comments on here about AET etc. no one knows when will increase. The coupls AET is not “costed” to happen till 2024 financial year and the 15-18 hours AET depends upon a deliverability assessment so is also not set in stone on when it happens or possibly if it happens at all.
Which is why I said “ All the above is what has been said but does not yet been regulated for”.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

September 2023 - Increased conditionality whereby a person in light touch, earning above AET but below CET will be required to go to job centre appointments (for partners the 1 not working i believe its work focused stuff). This is a phased approach/ie slow roll out as its Big!

So many people used to be getting UC with a part time job, now they are being told they have to earn more otherwise sanctions or their UC could be stopped altogether!!!!!

hundreds of thousands already been told this and it seems September many more thousands will be told they have to work even more and earn even more or at least show they are trying to.

It used to be jobseekers who had to show this but now even those in low paid work are being told this just as if they were in JSA

The same applies to UC. Low paid earnings most likely wouldn't have been entitled to JSA anyway because there's only a £5/week earnings disregard and anything more than that reduces the JSA £1 for £1. (even when working less than 16 hours/week)

What these changes mean is that the job centres will be a lot more busy from now on

many who used to get JSA just went over to UC on light touch now they will have to prove they are looking for a job again

Because UC claimants are jobseekers unless something reduces their jobseeking requirement. UC has replaced income based JSA.

So will there be much difference between someone with no job or someone with a part time min wage job? They will both have similar job search requirements and have to go to work focusing interviews and that jazz

Basically unless you are working full time or the equivalent of full time min wage then you will have work search requirements?

They actually said that the next part of the crackdown from September UC claimants who earn the equivalent of 35hrs NMW will be required to increase their earnings?????

    how on earth can they?
