Big (((hugs))) to Valli, Dad and Mum - such a difficult situation for you all xxx
(((Hugs))) also to piggers and family xxx. The getting together and the remembering and crying and laughing together are all such important parts of getting through the grieving process. I hope you can get to see your gran before it's too late.
I finally heard from my friend in horse piddle yesterday, saying she is improving slowly but still in pain. But it was major surgery, wasn't it? - and I do remember the pain I experienced last December only too clearly. When I saw her last week, before her op, she was terrified, and I wasn't going to dwell on that side of things when there was no other option for her if she wanted to continue living. Hopefully she will be able to sleep for most of the next two weeks and then realise that she is actually feeling better. I am also hoping that, having seen Mum post-op, her daughter will cancel her holiday to look after her and Dad (Mum is normally Dad's carer). I had offered to do what I could, but I can only offer half days and also need to take into account my own physical limitations.
Back to more pleasant topics!
DH, Rosie and I had a lovely day out yesterday. Sun not too hot, wind not too cold, no rain. Well under 1.25 hours' drive each way, through glorious countryside. Very few visitors at our destination, so no queues anywhere. Stunning gardens, and my favourite flowers (pink-tinged astrantia major) on the cafe tables. Flying wise, I put our tray of dirty crockery on the trolley. DH enjoyed his mobility scooter. Rosie and I enjoyed a long brisk walk through the parkland. We've been there a couple of times before, and enjoyed seeing and hearing subtle changes in the house and grounds. All very relaxing, and just what we needed
This morning I was woken up at 5.30 by the sunshine. Opened my curtains and decided to clean the upstairs windows before it got too hot!!!! I shall have to go over them again with a bit of meths because they are quite streaky, but most of the dust has gone and I can see out. (Yes, even flying is pleasant because of the satisfaction of seeing things clean and tidy.)
Plan for today:
- usual dailies
- decide what to cook for tea (I've used up all the leftovers, including frozen, so need to cook double portions again for at least a week to re-fill the freezer)
- clean downstairs windows
- K is bringing me a ripped sofa cushion for repair
- Action Heart
- call at MrW for 4 copies of their free weekend paper so that I can prepare a newspaper quiz for the Old Wives' meeting on Monday without page after page of sport!
- gardening (lots to do out there)
Have a good day, all xxx

Morning all xx
Hugs to Valli and piggers xx
I'm up, made my bed and had a brew. The only definite 'to do' today is to go to town later to take in the bins / water the flowerbed for DS and F.
I'll sup another brew, eat breakfast, get dressed, and make a list.
Love to all

Hello all.
We also had a direct cremation here but it was followed up with a gathering a few weeks later to remember them. Maybe something like that will help?
Today I have done dog walk, work shift, one wash load which I now need to put away, cut grass back and front. Started prepping for DGD1 arriving later and for me going out out tonight!Spend less now, work less later.7 -

Hi all
Sorry I havent been around much this week, and much love to Dizzy if she is still here. Round, congratulations on your news, and it's bad enough that DS1 is driving to the other end of the country for work tomorrow, I know exactly what you mean about them being far away.
I cant believe some of the little ones in the Flylady family are moving up to secondary school in September. Much love to those of you having a tough time at the moment.
Paid stuff tomorrow then we are going away for a few days, so I will catch up properly on the news when I am back.7 -
Hello all (waving frantically in all directions 🤗)
Hugs to all, belated happy birthday to Dancemum, congratulations to the MiL to be…
We got back just before midnight last night, which saved the car the faff of turning into a pumpkin, after a few much longed for days away in France. Am somewhat deflated now, as we had a lovely time, but 4 full days there was too short. As a special treat, the boiler gave up the ghost while we were away, so DH was treated to a freezing shower. Just after midnight! Am waiting patiently for Round, the wonder plumber, to come and sort it for me. In the meantime, apparently it is unfortunately fine to run the wm, so that will be my first job(s) this morning. After another cuppa, of course.Oh and it is now raining. It rained for 2 full days of our holiday too. I think I have a portable grey cloud which comes on any holiday with me.6 -
Morning all xx
And a big HALLOOOOO to Fayolle. Welcome back 😊
I'm up, made my bed got dressed, fed the birds, put the recycling out, eaten breakfast and I'm on my second brew.
We've just had a short, sharp shower and it now smells like a rainforest out there as in high humidity. Hot and sticky. Bleurgh. And thunderflies are making me feel lousy.

Six hour shift at work done, I have to go back a bit later on as well.
House is vaguely presentable and I’ve started to do some paperwork. Lasagne for tea and an early night xx7
