Hi Coupon Mad...I've found it thank you..so much info!! I've filled out the N180 and will photocopy and send to various parties.

I have also just received a letter from the parking firms solicitors. It is a 'Notice of Defence that Amount Claimed Has Been Paid'  the Claimant (Excel parking) wish to proceed with the claim.

I assume this is for my records.

That doesn't make a lot of sense.

'Amount Claimed Has Been Paid' - what does that mean?
Can you please show us that letter - with your personal details hidden of course.

I've never seen one of those Notices.

I think it all hinges on this statement in that Notice...

Is that so? Have you actually paid?
The fact that the Claimant wants to continue with the case makes one think that perhaps you haven't paid, and re-reading this thread I can see no mention of you having paid.

When I look at Form N9B, did you perhaps tick the Yes box in question 2...

    This may take some unravelling.

    Hi KeithP
No I haven't paid it.  And never claimed to have.

I also didn't receive a copy of the form N9B that they say is attached in this letter.

Also in the N180 form there is a section called " D: Suitability for determination without a hearing" this isn't on the thread advice list on filing out this form.
Is it OK to select Yes for the court to determine the claim without a hearing?

No but it is in the thread over a year ago by @Grizebeck about the new questions in the N180.  Easily found by searching the forum.
