County Court claim charge

Hi all, I received a parking fine from Excel parking services limited for not paying for an hours parking. At the time the machine wasn't  working I couldn't upload my registration number to pay for the parking. 
I emailed an appeal against the parking fine but this was not agreed to and instead they sent me a further charge for not paying the first one. 
Now my debt has been passed to ELMS and they told me I would receive a court package but no further charges...this package has arrived with further charges. 
HELP ! I feel I should pay the charge but I really resent having to pay the extra court charges as I was told I wouldn't have any.

Is it a court claim?  You realise I hope, that we do these every day and you can read any number of court claim threads to learn how to defend and win.

You DO NOT just pay.

What's the Date of Issue of the Claim Form?  Is it a Claim Form from Northampton?

Hello, the court valid is dated 20 june 2023 and from NN1 2LH so yes Northampton.
I'm finding it hard to follow some of the threads it's a bit of a minefield

What date did you do that? You have time.

With a Claim Issue Date of 20th June, you have until Monday 10th July to file an Acknowledgment of Service but there is nothing to be gained by delaying it. 

To file an Acknowledgment of Service, follow the guidance in the Dropbox file linked from the second post in the NEWBIES thread.

Having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Monday 24th July 2023 to file your Defence.

That's over three weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute.

To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look again at the second post on the NEWBIES thread - immediately following where you found the Acknowledgment of Service guidance.

Don't miss the deadline for filing an Acknowledgment of Service, nor that for filing a Defence.

Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.

Thank you Coupon-mad and KeithP - I've filed my AOS today. 
Have begun my defence using the template on Newbies thread too ....you say not to file rhis through Money Claim Online - do I have to email the court with it?

Just received a Notice of Propsed Allocation to the Small Claims Track. 
I have to send the form back by Aug 3rd and state if I want to use the free small claims mediation service ....is this recommended?
