I have emailed the service and asked if this is possible. This is short term support offered by our local carer’s service but he is on the waiting list for an adult social need assessment so may end up with something regular in the future.

Have had a very boring, volatile day at home today. Lots of fallout from a busy day yesterday for the middle one and the eldest has been particularly triggered for reasons unknown.

No big plans this week as such - our first week in months without a medical appointment of some sort for the children (Although we do have three next week to make up for it)!

It is our littlest ones 4th birthday the following week and all he has asked for is a pirate piñata filled with sweeties and a picnic on the beach with his friend. Love this age so much ❤️

Spoke to soon RE the medical appointment! I’ve had to book middle child in to see a private podiatrist on Thursday as her foot had a very large , what we were told was a corn, but now looks like a huge verruca which is starting to look weepy. She’s only 9 so really want a second opinion.

This month we have husbands last employment wage which will be substantial due to owed holiday hours. It will completely wipe out our Universal Credit (rightly so). We plan to put £1000 into the emergency fund and the rest paid of the excess paid towards debt.

Will update our figures after pay day.

Had a lovely walk round the woodland and down to the shore with the little two and the dogs this morning.

The 18 year old has flipped his sleep schedule again which means he didn’t go to bed until around 9am this morning - unsure when (or whether!) to wake him.

Attempted to save some money yesterday by cutting the youngest one’s (quite long!) hair but it’s turned out pretty bad so will have to take him to get it fixed on Thursday when we are in town.

I also spent some time this morning organising our home learning supplies. Schools return here the middle of next week but middle child will be staying at home indefinitely. We are taking youngest to visit a nursery in town (16 miles away) on Friday. If he likes the space and they can accommodate his needs we will register him for one or two days a week there. If it isn’t the right fit he’ll stay at home too, meaning we will have all three home full time.

Looking forward to some quiet term time beach days - not that we see many people around our parts, even at peak times!

Another much needed day outdoors today. Spent the morning on the pier crabbing in the torrential rain. Home for lunch and back out to try a different spot. Back mid afternoon with two very happy little kids. We didn’t keep any crabs - solely for observation and release.

Eldest managed some sleep last night so a more positive day all round.

Podiatrist and haircut tomorrow, maybe a stop off at the craft shop to see if they have any activator for slime making as requested by the middle child.

Budget wise we’re a bit blown out the water but trying to rein it in with some free activities for the next week until pay day.

A trip to the city planned on Sunday to visit my gran who has Alzheimer’s, bless her. Think my sister is going to look after whichever children don’t want to come. Husband is doing the driving and going to sort her communal garden out while we are there as she mentions how overgrown it is every time we chat! He’ll also bake a cake for us to enjoy together with the rest shared with some other residents. He’s a good egg! ❤️

  • Have a wonderful visit on Sunday! Cake is amazing, and even better if your DH is making it! Budgets are flexi, hopefully you will find lots of free activities to help last until pay day

Well we have had a lovely, exhausting day visiting granny. Started the day at 6:00am, navigated 18yo meltdowns and managed to miraculously leave the house organised by 8:30am. All three children asked to stay with my sister for the day so we dropped them all off for the first time ever!

Granny lives approx 100miles away so we’re still on the road home now but lots achieved in her garden and some lovely chill time had by all.

Planning a trip back down next month to finish the garden clearance and hopefully the kids will join us for the road trip 🤞🏼

Last pay from employment for the husband today so budget has been reset. We now however have to readjust our monthly budget to reset on the 25th or 26th so will have to try calculate how to bridge that gap in the best way due to most bills coming out on the 15th.

It's worth contacting the companies and asking to change the payment date so that it falls after the new pay date.  Most will be willing to do this.
