Purple Parking went bust around 10 years ago leaving hundreds of people having to repay for their parking to get their cars out. The assets then got bought by Holiday Extras.

As far as I am aware they don't take vehicles off site. As for how long to pay for after your flight return, you need to consider getting through customs and bag collection and then add 30 minutes. Depending on the terminal you come in at it can take 30 minutes to get back to the pickup. We were terminal 3 last time and by the time the bus had come and got around the other terminal (refusing boarding at T5 as it was full) it was 20-30 minutes later.

This year I am using the official Heathrow Business Parking T3/4 service which has come out cheaper than Purple Parking and you park and keep your keys with this one. It is on the airport perimeter and uses a shuttle bus in the same way.

My outbound flight is at 7.05am and I arrive back at 6.30pm. I'm planning to arrive at whatever carpark I choose at around 4am, but what about coming back? how quick is it to get through arrivals? I'm going to norway by the way.
It can vary on how long but I’d allow an hour from landing to getting to your car as a minimum. It can be quicker but rarely. I think I managed it in about 50 minutes last month but that was terminal 4, no issues with getting off the plane, no queue at passport control and the luggage only taking 15 minutes and the bus to the car park turning up immediately (the long stay car park). A couple of months ago I waited 1 hour for luggage at terminal 4.

With regards to car park prices, I normally book the long stay car parks at both Heathrow and Gatwick. Maybe not the cheapest but I’d rather park my car myself and keep my keys. Heathrow is also cheaper to park than Gatwick this summer if anyone is deciding which airport to fly from (the long stay at Gatwick that I booked is costing around 30% more per day than my Heathrow booking).

Just got back yesterday afternoon in to Heathrow having used Purple parking and they were great EXCEPT don't use the postcode as your satnav will have you going round in circles, if you are coming off M25 - M4 get to the postcode point where it tells you to turn left  and ignore it and keep going straight on, you will then see it on the right and can turn round at the next point and go back.
Had us in a panic as we were already 40 mins late due to a problem on the M25 (who would have guessed) two people on our bus behind us were saying exactly the same so not just us.

Thanks. It's so hard to tell if these companies are reliable or not. All the online reviews are clearly fake.

I think I'm going to go with Blue Circle. Not the cheapest but they seem to have at least been around for a while.
Really? I looked at them and they’ve only been going since 2009? (Purple parking have been around since the 1990’s and are probably the most famous private airport parking).

Not that I’m recommending them but they’ve been doing it a while.

I may have got the wrong Blue Circle though …
Most of these companies haven't been around for a year or seems. They get bad reviews, change name or fold and start over...

Purple are more than £100 extra. Only a little cheaper than using the Heathrow official Long Stay car park. If the price was closer I'd consider them
have you looked on just park

I posted a link to one location but the guys who know the area went quiet
Thanks, I have looked on Just Park. Have you tried it?

It sounds like a hassle, especially with luggage. Need to get bags on the bus, or a fair walk.

Not sure about it after a 14 hour flight.

Are you sure? The Heathrow Long Stays are on the North perimeter road, the Eastern end of the runway and South side by T4. All of them are considered ‘within’ the airport (and none of them take your keys off you). Purple parking also don’t take your car elsewhere, though as you pointed out earlier in the thread, they are hellishly expensive!!

And as also pointed out they tour the terminals picking people up and it can take ages. The long stays tend to be far more convenient in that respect. It’s weighing that up against price I guess.

We needed a few days at Gatwick next week and the long stay (even before putting a discount code in) came out far cheaper than PP.

Ah, difference in terminology I guess. By off site I meant you can't walk to the terminal.

At the moment I'm getting £300 for the official Long Stay, £270 for PP, and £290 for PP meet & greet.

Blue Circle meet & greet is £165. They seem to be okay. The extremely dodgy looking "Park-Inn" m&g is £120, but add another £12 for the short stay car park access.

Just Park cheapest nearby is £100, plus taxi fare to and from the terminal. Anything near a station is considerably more expensive.

Inclined to go with Blue Circle as I can't find anything cheaper that isn't sketchy looking, and the slightly higher cost is probably worth it to save a lot of hassle and get home earlier in the evening.

Thanks guys, I do like the ease of purple parking but it’s £200 ish for when I want compared to £75 ish at the Marriott.
That's a surprisingly big diffterence. Presumably you have to stay at the Marriott to get that rate?

£75 seems to me like a 'too good to be true' rate.

Yes, sounds suspiciously too cheap for 2 weeks. I'd double check that your car remains onsite and isn't move to a field halfway around the M25.

Re the just park rate at the Marriott , I have just received an email from the Marriott confirming that they are indeed on just park and that I don’t have to leave my keys….it’s a bargain
