Heathrow parking

Watching Martin last night, he spoke about arranging airport parking through a comparison site. I never knew this was possible, any recommendations on what sites/companies to use? and is this sort of thing secure? I don't want to arrive at Heathrow at 4am in the morning, only to be told there is no booking.

My favourite cark park at Heathrow is Purple Parking on the Bath Rd next to the Premier Inn. Used them lots of times and never had a problem. On the other hand I hda big trouble with the official Long Stay car park last year so I won't be using them again.
I'm sure someone will come along soon to say that the money saving way of doing it is to park on a quiet residential street nearby.

Only flown from there twice and on both occasions stopped the night before at local LHR hotels which allowed us to park throughout the duration of our trip; turn up, park on site, stay that night and catch airport bus from the front door. Return, reverse procedure. Cost little more than simply parking0

I used the official Long Stay (Terminals 2&3) last month and had no issues. Got some cashback via Topcashback as well. Booked well in advance and price was quite good. Didn't use Purple Parking as they ask you to hand over your keys and park it for you - I prefer to park the car myself and hold onto the keys..
Met some people on holiday who had parked at the Premier Inn in Slough and could leave their car there and get a taxi in. Not sure if it's a Premier Inn deal but could be worth checking.0 -

My problem with the Official Long Stay car park is that I arrived back late on a Sunday evening and I couldn't get out of the exit barrier. The customer service office was closed and it took me 30 mins on hold to get through to someone on the phone to let me out.0 -

Wouldn’t be happy leaving keys, especially when you hear reports in the news of cars being parked in muddy fields, picking up parking and speeding tickets . . .1

Yes, there are some dubious operators around but with Purple Parking (and similar) the cars never leave their secure compound. Probably safer in there than in the public car parks.0 -

Drive to the car park and head for one of the Arrival Bays. to park up. Grab your luggage and walk over to reception where you can check-in your car - you'll need to hand over your keys so a Purple Parking driver can find a space for your car.
