@Soontobeoap - I think the best way to freeze garlic is to peel it and whizz it up with a little water and then freeze in ice cube trays. Once frozen pour into a freezer bag and just take out however much you need.

I popped into Tesco today and spent an extra £13.83 on bits and bobs.
I've just around £2.50 left from this weeks money, which I will add to the pot and start again Monday.
I will be meeting up with family and possibly be having a meal out, but that won't come from the food budget.Decluttering campaign 2023

@MissRikkiC I feel your pain. £3.75 for 4 is a lot. Or is that for 3? Still cheaper than buying whilst out with kids for the day though. I have also discovered slushys for 99p in Aldi. It seems really expensive but compared to what they cost on a day out it is so much cheaper. The kids think they are a real treat too. The problem is that although these things are cheaper, they are being paid for out of grocery budget and not entertainment. I need to take that into account!
Thank you @joedenise.Regarding garlic I think I will peel, chop small and freeze in portions in ice cube container as you have suggested. I dont have a whizzer. So chopping will have to do.

I am not looking forward to shopping this week but I will need to. Two carrots left and the stub of a white cabbage, plus a slightly sad looking sweetheart cabbage and one lemon. Coleslaw anyone?!
I need to be more organised this month after massively spending more than I should have in June, or there will be no treats in December.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Happy July everyone! I stepped away from the challenge in June because I pretty much left my house on June 5th and we’re still away. First in Edinburgh for a week and we’re currently in Brooklyn, NY eating our way through the city while visiting friends. 🙂 We’ll return to Scotland mid July and that’s where we’ll pick up our July budget.Mr. Jings said the fridge was absolutely bare when he left to join me so we’ll need to get the basics along with bigger items like toilet paper and detergent. I’ll put in a Tesco order to arrive the day we return so we have some easy food for the weekend while recovering from jet lag. Have a lovely weekend everyone!5

@Soontobeoap do you have a recipe for the cheeseburger pastrys? and are they freezable?
They sound really good and something my husband would really enjoy xWeight loss - 0/12 GC - July 142.01/£200 Happiness can be found in the darkest of places if only someone turns on the light5 -
@Soontobeoap you could make ice lollies with the DGC with yoghurt pots. My mum used to use tupperware tumblers.
@elsiepac please put me in for £250 for July. Hopefully £50 will be complete and go towards store cupboard/freezer goods budget. Stashed separately, not sure when this will be spent. The likes of some doing quarterly or 4 monthly throughout the year sounds very plausable.
@SausageDogSandwich re the gift for school teacher I saw a video on t'internet somewhere and this was an English school teacher who was shopping with her own money buying items that school students are likely to need and does this each year to the tune of approximately £300. Perhaps a box of pens maybe more cost effective all round and it will go further tooHTH
