Thanks again @elsiepac.CAN YOU PLEASE PUT ME, DOWN FOR £450 IN JULY.
I have completely run down the freezer and cupboards, which is scary seeing how much I spent this month! 😱.The gluten/dairy free twins will be staying with their big brother in the last week and we have a big family get together to cater for. Thanks for the new thread @elsiepac, and thanks @Suffolk_lass for telling us it was up. Please count me “in”. Since we’ve had to “borrow” £20, because we’ve overrun in June
our budget for July will be £120.
We’ll be away for the second half of the month, so should survive.

In for £400 please @elsiepac
Couple of reflections from June. We ended the month not feeling as food broke as we usually do, I was still reluctant to shop mind.As a direct result of this, I didn’t run out and order a £100+ shop the moment I got paid and instead just reverse shopped for the next few days totalling £30ish. The reduction in anxiety I’ve felt for doing this has been huge.We have meat products in still from last month but not as many tins or pasta as I’d expected therefore feel this is evident that we are a lot more vegetable and pasta dishes in June. Likely due to the veg boxes we have (and had because I forgot to cancel!) but also because we’ve been so time poor this month so have opted for quicker meals. The children having their ‘tea’ at nursery, not only irks me because of the difference in what I’d make vs what nursery give them but also because it still doesn’t save me any money as we’ve managed to max out the budget and beyond anyway!I made a couple of mistakes last month in ordering a years supply of shower gel, missing the nectar price on beer (£9 worth!!) plus the additional veg boxes so clear that I need a bit more focus on this budget. However equally as mentioned I’ve been more time poor than usual so kind of makes sense.Looking forward to July and the garden produce helping out.Follow here for the daily life of an ADHD mum with 2 children and a new mortgage to pay

£270 please for July
Haven't wrapped up June yet as run full calendar month but already over in June. Determined July is going to be better somehow! The allotment is now providing as much lettuce as we need, the courgettes have started and even had a few new potatoes but only because I couldn't wait and dug two up for a look-see. We still have beetroots, parsnips, and green beans from last year in the freezer too.
In January I started keeping my till receipts and cross off food items as I use them to see where I am spending on things I haven't used (therefore spending unnecessarily). The aim is to use up everything within a month of purchase. Surprisingly not too much unused but we have got very empty shelves which I'm not comfortable with so this month I am going to make a start on building up our stores again and have allocated an additional £25 per month for this which I will record separately . My aim with this is to have an almost no spend month in October apart from fresh things that won't store.
Good luck for July everyone and thank you @elsiepac for running the thread.

Hi
Do you mind if I join in?
We've got a lot of changes coming up and I want to see how we do. I've got 2 months before I leave my job to see where we are at and start changing habits..
I'd like to set £200 for July please. That's for 2 Adults, one 4yr old (she's at nursery during the week and tends to snack during the week) and a dog

After I totally lost track in June I am back for July! We are away at the end of July and have money put aside for that so am going to aim for a budget of £275 for the month. This is for 2 Adults, 8 year old and a dog. DD has recently become vegetarian so we all eat veggie meals at home now. We have a small allotment which should help with the budget!
Spent £11.33 on a few bits today and have a big Morres shop booked for tomorrow using a £12 off an £80 shop voucher.
Spent £11.33 / £275Budget £275

Spends against this months budget so far as £33 at Tesc0 for a top up, including dairy free cheese, spread, squash, ice-creams and fruit and veg. It feels like a lot but i think, Strawberries at £3, blueberries at £3, courgettes at £3, Tuna at £2, DF cheese and cheese spread totalling £5.50, squash at almost £2, and DF icecreams (my treat!) at almost £4 i can clearly see why! Its rare to get much under £1 now isnt it. Thats £21.50 for not alot in my opinion!
Prior to that i picked up some bits last weekend, totalling just under £30 so were not too bad so far! Granted were not even a week in yet but usually i do a big top up shop the moment we get paid which is upwards of £100 so happy with where we are at.

£16.84 spent today already. Needed bread and juice. Bought some cheese at nectar price. DH was with me but I dont think much else went in the basket. Pleased to see that gf pastas are down to 75p a pack in sainsburys and tescos. I think we might just be beginning to see a supermarket price war. Big shop to come from Tesco next week with all of the gf/df stuff.craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

190/600 a bit over as i go from 24th to 24th so will have to slow down. We had a close call today as local co op included persons shopping in front of hubby at till. He overpaid £46 (went back and got refund) I Do not really understand how person can leave shop without paying and as assistant was obviously friends with person in front cant help but think it was done on purpose as most people are very busy now to check and elderly person might be caught out as well But might just be me and my suspicious mind21k savings no debt7
