    Is comparing the HE variable tariff versus the Octopus fixed tariff a fair comparison? Or is Octopus variable tariff more expensive that their 12M fixed?
    In my region at least, Flexible Octopus is currently a little more expensive than the Aug V6 fix.

    I have to admit that my switch to Home Energy has gone surprising well and smoothly.  To be honest, the only effort was remembering my bank details for the direct debit at the time of switching and taking a couple of meter readings.

    Does Home Energy allow customers to change a direct debit amount occasionally when required or is this set?

    I've been told that I can change the amount and date once they have received my first direct debit.  I will be changing both the amount and date this or next week and shall report back if I experience problems.

    I've changed the direct debit amount and date with zero issues.

    It's been around two weeks since I changed from EDF to Home Energy and EDF have only received the closing meter readings for my electric so far.  They are still waiting for my closing gas readings, which they say usually come through first.

    I can remember having this issue with another provider, but it was resolved in the end, albeit taking a little longer than it normally should.  But why does this keep happening? I've always submitted my final readings to the old provider the day before the switch, then I provide my first meter readings to the new provider on the day of the switch.

    Just switched to Home Energy to take advantage of the likely pretty steady rates over the next 5 1/2 months - very smooth switching experience so far. 

    I did have an issue logging into my account but their customer support were excellent and I didn't have to wait on hold for long either before speaking with them. 

    Simple but clear online dashboard for taking readings too. 

    I'll report back if I face any further issues!

    After 12 months with EDF I have decided to switch to Home Energy as they appear to be the cheapest deal. I had no problems signing up yesterday. EDF have already been in touch. 'We're sorry to hear you're leaving us' etc.

    The only slight downside is that EDF took the direct debit on 4th of the month. Home Energy will take the first DD on 11th of this month so I will be paying three weeks earlier. I can live with that for a saving of maybe £150 to £200 per annum.

    Below are details of the deal.

    Electricity Estimated annual usage 2718.9 kWh

    Gas Estimated annual usage 8899 kWh

    Standing Charge 42.30p per day

    As a small supplier has any one moved to them as the rates are the lowest I have found but not fixed , I'm thinking about moving away from Octopus as they seen to have lost their way with competitive  pricing
