ASB (sorry, old initial habits are hard to break 😘), so many hugs heading your way. On the plus side, never underestimate physio, as it can do wonders. As Piggers says, apply for DLA if that is an option. It will be heartbreaking, but you have to re-imagine your worst day and that is what you write on the form. It is tough, but you can do this for DD and we are all behind you. Schools can be amazing, both primary and secondary. Both of DD’s went above and beyond. They were without doubt truly amazing. You will get through this, as will DD, even if you don’t quite see the way right now. So many hugs coming your way xx8 -
Asparklierblonde Sorry to hear of your DD's accident and ongoing issues. I cant offer any help or advice but hope she improves and that the school help with required support.
Family fall outs are awful and sometimes you have to make the separation. DH's mother was awful to me and our DD to the point that the relationship broke down completely and DH went to visit her on his own in her final years. I feel nothing towards her but feel sorry for DD who missed out on a grandmother. I think she gets it now especially as his aunty stepped in to the space she left and they had a great relationship. So I feel your pain piggers.
Been at the paid stuff today, fairly easy day reviewing and updating policies but the 2 mile walk each way in the warm is tiring. DD did dinner this evening so DH and I have cleared away and the kitchen is sparkly again. AM doing a lot of reading at the moment to get my head round info for dad and I am starting a healthier me programme that involves eating and exercise and I need to read it all to be able to understand how it all works before I get going on it. Aiming for next week but still loads to read.
Flying will be limited to what I can do in my office/craft room while I watch videos.
Love and hugs to all those in need xMortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!8 -
ASB big hugs from here too. I used the free 'dictate' in Word when I had my shoulder injury and it was great. Speech-to-text is built into practically all devices nowadays, it can just be a matter of activating it sometimes.
I'm now up to date on all reports bar the one I assessed yesterday, and I've started that. Paperwork from all completed reports now filed.
Still loads to do in the garden, not the least of which is watering as we've had no rain for ages.
Still got some webinars to catch up on and another on-line conference to attend on Saturday.
House is reasonable but with all doors and windows open so much all the dust has come in and the hay fever is rampant.
Still wrestling some sense out of uni/their pension administrator to see why my pension seemingly went down to half its previous value 18 months ago. Financial advisor coming tomorrow.
Went for a run this morning, inspired by an aquathlon (running + swimming) event I watched yesterday......Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -

Good morning lovelies
Thank you thank you THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. As usual, you have supported, advised and shared knowledge - all in a gentle, caring way. In RL all I’ve heard is ‘oh, it’ll come back in time’, or ‘kids are resilient’… it’s a heck of a lot more complicated than that! People mean well but I’m sick of their frankly meaningless comments. I hadn’t even considered DLA, hadn’t heard of dictate, wasn’t sure if I should just deal with head of year or SENDCO - you’ve empowered me. Thank you.
Another bright beautiful day here
on the moor. Two loads of washing on the line, animals fed, short list made for the day. I am working 9-3, then running an errand for work at 9pm tonight. I am working for a large chunk of the weekend but that’s a one off.I am taking one of the dogs to the vet after work, she had an ear infection a while ago (Cockapoo floppy ears get all sorts in them!) and they still don’t seem right and she won’t let me touch them. Hopefully they will identify the issues and be able to help.I hope you all have great days, I’ll bob back in later, big love to you all xx8 -
Flippin’ heck ASB…well I’m pleased you’ve got support NOW…
just ironed yesterdays tiny ironing pile. I’ll put the board and iron away after my vertical half hour.
I want to pop to the bank later (work errand) which i will combine with a trip to savers and to the haberdashers. I want some pins which won’t get lost in my knitting and i have found a blanket pattern i want to try out. No plan what to do with the blanket yet but we have a donation box at work for a charity called baby basics and i have long wanted to put some hand knits in there, for new mums who need support. So maybe it will go in there; my understanding is they give a moses basket filled with stuff to the new mums.
Im also hoping to get the cs stuff out of the way too, I can drop in there en route.
Hope you all have a happy FridayDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

ASB.. I'm so pleased you feel supported and have tools to help in the coming weeks. It may well come back and children are resilient and cope with pretty much anything but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be supported and nurtured or that they don't get frustrated or angry at a change in their ability with so much uncertainty around it. She will be wonderful and do great things, she may have to work that bit harder but she will be just perfect.
I have a nail appointment t 10am and OH is going to DD1's to be babysat until I am done. He is taking Squeak with him.. she won't go back to school until Monday, it wasn't even worth fighting over it. She is dreading going back and anyone mentioning why she's been off.
Laundry to bring in/hang out before I go..
