I've been spending out over the past few days on coffee and cakes (not to the extent that I would have done previously) but I was limping through as best I could.  I had been struggling with chronic pain and was whacking pain meds to try and get some relief as it was preventing me from sleeping.  Hence the lattes and the cakes (caffeine and sugar) during the day to try and keep going at work.  Finally shook the pain off with Anadin extra alongside Diclofenac and also Turmeric supplements.  Oramorph didn't even take the edge off it but with perseverance, trial and error, I got there.  I am off today and tomorrow as no overtime, but I have picked up a Sunday shift, thankfully.  I spoke to our book-keeper last night and I think she might just be able to take on the process of doing DH company wages.  I would be delighted to see the end of that job too.

Everything is really quiet just now as no-one has got up for the day yet.  My part-time lodger left last night and will be back on Wednesday next week.  DH won't be on the move for another hour yet and the cat is sound asleep next to me.  There is a pigeon cooing outside and the other birds are twittering away.  We live next to the canal and the dog walkers will be out shortly and inevitably the dogs will start making a right racket.  What a joy that is!

Back to budgeting today with a bit of luck.

@[Deleted User] The amount that I have/had outstanding I wanted to pay over four months to get rid of it.  Rather than detail the full amount of approx £750, I split it up into smaller totals and pay an amount daily to reduce the outstanding.  I work it over 28 days as I am paid 4-weekly as opposed to monthly.
CC1 was split into individual transactions (on my spreadsheet) for each month.  i.e £538.78 TCC 12/22 means that there were personal transactions totalling £538.78 on the T3sco CC during Dec 22.  There were other transactions going through that CC but they were for DH business.  I pay a daily amount that is equivalent to the transaction that is on my spreadsheet.
Re budgeting, I pay the majority of my bills by monthly direct debit.  Whatever is leftover I used to put towards my mortgage.  Now, however, I split between my debt and my emergency savings.  I have a set amount for food/fuel too.  I'm not a socialiser and spend most of my time working so I have no costs, generally, for alcohol etc.  I don't have manicures/pedicures/facials and never have so presumable save a few bob there.  I don't wear make-up/moisturiser and again save there.  I bulk buy shampoo, toothpaste, soap, washing up liquid, soap powder so save on those as well.  I get the train to work, where my shifts allow, to save on fuel.  My downfall is latte/cake/sweets and so I do the NSD challenge and that helps to curb my spending on those.  Too much info, perhaps, there!  Indi

Finished my shift today and home for just after 4pm.  Went and did some rostering until 9pm.  Put a washing on, went to check on it just over an hour later to find that it had flooded.  Was not happy about that but at least the floors affected were lino and tiles.  Was my own fault as I saw that the machine was not in its usual position (it was protruding) and now it looks as if the door has been damaged as well.  I'm guessing that someone has pulled it forward using the door, the reason for which I have no idea.  DH was not impressed either.  After all that, the cat escaped and I do not like her being out during the night.  That was the worst part of the whole rubbish escapade.

So, just five more days to go to finish paying off one quarter of CC2 and now one fifth of the way through making payments to CC1 Dec transactions.  Still have not done savings update.  Back out on an overtime shift tonight.  Got in from work about half past four this morning to find that DH had tidied and cleaned one of the downstairs rooms.  He has emptied all my stuff out of there and left it in piles the whole length of the hallway.  My part-time lodger arrives today so I'll now have to go and move everything, get the house hoovered, dishes done and shower cleaned before I go out to work.  I am not overjoyed at the additional work, I have to say.  Just goes to show that if I didn't have so much stuff, I wouldn't have the additional work!
