As it is the first working day of the month, most of my direct debits have left my account, including the mortgage which is the largest of the lot.  My shift today is quite a good one as I don't finish as late as some of the others.  I cannot get to the post office today as I won't be ready in time.  It closes from 1pm till 2pm and that is when I will be heading to the station to catch my train to work.  But I'll be able to catch it tomorrow.  My part-time lodger should be arriving today also so that is good.  Other than that, there is nothing else happening.

I downloaded a book last night so that I could have something light-hearted to read on my way home.  On the opening page it said "One is very crazy when in love" Sigmund Freud.  I nearly fell over when I read that and it was as if I'd been given a reprieve.  I have, twice in life, been crazy when in love and it was not pleasant.  My past actions, in that regard always left me horrified or it had made me horrified until I read this quote and realised that it's not just me who has been mad.  What a relief, I have to say and I've cut myself a break.  Sometimes, life gets messy.

Finances are done for today and I just have one more payment left on CC1 to clear the debt accrued 11/22.  Credit cards are not the only debts I have, I also have a very large mortgage.  When I have finished clearing the cards and reached my savings goal, I will start overpaying on the mortgage again.

Waves hand in the air…crazy and stupid here! I wasted so much of my life in a prison of my own making 😢 You live and learn, but I’m a very slow learner, sigh. I hope the book is good.

I always reckon that I am one of life's late starters @WinterWarrior so I wouldn't be concerned about being a slow learner.  As long as we get where we are going, I reckon, is the main thing.  Some of us just go the round about way instead of going direct!  Takes time x
